Hi Sully413,

So they expedited your case to London but did not schedule an interview? How did you request the expedite processing?

It was only expedited a couple of weeks ago.

You can see the criteria here, but tbh there’s no point with London as it’s super quick anyway so an expedite isn’t likely to be make any difference. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/national-visa-center/immigrant-visas-processing-general-faqs.html#ivp7

We didn’t request it to be expedited. We received an email from NVC stating that our case had been DQed and then a week later a separate email that it had been expedited. No clue why but haven’t heard anything since about an interview date

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone can help/let me have their thoughts on our situation as below please.

I’m a UK citizen, spouse is US citizen, we applied for me to join spouse in US via CR1 in July 2023.

We’ve been through all the process and we were DQ’d on 23 Jan, case sent to London Embassy on 7 Feb, which was all good.

On 2 March at around 00:16 I got an (automated?) email asking me to register at the usvisa-info site.

On doing this I was told I already had an account!

I was then playing around on that site (out of frustration) as I couldn’t see what to do next and somehow I managed to book an Interview at the US Embassy in London on Friday 4 April.

I feel as if I’ve jumped the gun here as from all I’ve read, the Embassy are meant to send me an Interview Letter with the interview details plus other info re how to book medical etc.

Please let me have your thoughts on whether to:

  1. Cancel the interview I’ve booked as this isn’t how it’s meant to be done?! Patiently await the Interview Letter!
  2. Keep the interview I’ve booked and hope I get the interview letter soon?
  3. Something else?

Thanks

Are you absolutely sure you haven’t missed an email with your interview letter on? Have you checked your junk/spam folder? It’s just that your file isn’t usually sent to the consulate until your interview has been scheduled, so I wonder if you’ve missed an appointment and that’s why you’ve been asked to schedule your own (you have to do that if you reschedule or don’t attend).

Hi,

Thanks so much for the quick reply!

Emails come to both of us and we're usually very good at spotting them between us but we'll double-check just to be safe.

On CEAC it says case still being reviewed at the Consulate where the interview will take place!

Is it possible that you created the account in the past, or someone did for you?

Have you done your medical? You need to do your medical before the interview and you need your invitation letter for that.

The invitation letter can come as far as several months after your DQ, so April might be a bit optimistic.

IR-1

Applied: 2023-09-12

I-130 Approved: 2024-07-02

Documents sent: 2024-09-20

DQ: 2024-09-27

IL: 2024-11-20

Interview: 2025-01-21

Very good point - I got a B1/B2 back in 2018 so maybe that's still in the system somewhere

Feels like I should cancel the appointment I made and wait for the Interview Letter

Have emailed them to ask so will see what they say - if anything

Holding off doing the medical until I get confirmation either way

Thanks

No, I am patiently waiting for my IL. I think it takes at least a month

It was only taking two weeks for an IL from end of November to end of January. But haven’t seen any reports of an IL since end of January so it’s been hard to gauge what the timeframe is right now! When did you get DQ’d?

Ohh I didn’t know! I got DQ’ed on Feb 27th, so it’s been only a couple of days. I was hoping to hear something in late March.

Let us know when you get the IL please! No one's been reporting anywhere on any platform as of late Jan so it's been hard to track current timeline. I was DQ'd on 7th March so I'm just a week behind you.
