Fantastic info and l really appreciate the detailed response..!

So in your experiance and it seems like you know a lot more on this than l do, you think my London has no backlog to speak of and it should just drop through within the given timeframes..?

Thanks

Yep, I do. We're very lucky that London is one of the quickest consulates out there, even our passport return was super quick (interview on the Monday afternoon, visa received on the Thursday morning!). I can't imagine how tough it is for people who have a current PD and have been DQ'ed to have to wait 2 years for an interview as at other consulates.

You may not get an IL this month, but hopefully should be Feb for an interview in April (ish) as a rough guide.

Best of luck.

Hi

Thank you for this🙏🏽
in your opinion, looking at how those of us in CR1/IR hasn’t received ILs yet this month… do you think there’s any chance this month for us ?

Yes. Only my opinion but I’ve only heard of EB applicants getting IL’s so far this month, so I’d guess that spousal are still to come (note definitely just a guess!). Normally the end of the month anyway so still could be a couple of weeks away.

Hi everyone! I got DQd on December 16, 2023 (CR1 visa) and am wondering if there's still any chance we'll get a February interview date? Or if it seems at this point that we'll be pushed to March. Thanks for any insight!

hi Juliette. I was DQd on 13th and not heard anything yet. Still hoping that something is sent this week.

Someone on here was DQd on 11th and has heard back so hopefully soon.

Hello everyone,

CR1 - DQ today!

I am reading about certain cut offs for IL etc. Can anyone shed some light as to how the IL system works? If you haven't heard by a certain date do you know you wont be that month?

Thank you for any help,

James

This is how it normally works:

1. Case is DQ'd by NVC.

2. Case then enters NVC queue for your consulate and waits at NVC.

3. Consulate informs NVC of available interview date for upcoming month.

4. NVC schedules interviews for cases at the front of the line.

5. NVC schedules your  interview when your case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate.

6. NVC notifies person of interview date via email.

7. NVC then sends case to consulate.

After the interview is scheduled, it can take several days to several weeks for the consulate to receive the case.

Did my green card interview in London today! They said 1-2 weeks for the passport to get back. Has anyone had theirs back recently and can shed some light on the turnaround time? Really hoping it’s 1 week and not 2 😅

Hi! I did my interview last Friday, January 12th and got my passport back yesterday, January 18th. The turnaround time can be a lot quicker, I think the long estimate they give you is to manage expectations.

They will let you know once it has been printed and when the courier has it for delivery so it will not be a surprise when it arrives. You can also check the CEAC status check page for updates on when it has been printed/issued.

Congrats!!

Good to know! And that was with a public holiday on the Monday too I think.

I’m expecting / hoping for next Thursday.

What did you guys do for a bag/backpack at your interview?

I'm staying the night before in London for an 8am interview, but there's no way I can't take a backpack with me to hold my documents and other items for staying the night.

I read bags aren't permitted inside the building, with no place to store them either.

Leave everything that isn’t needed for the interview with the accommodation desk where you stay the night before. They are usually happy to hold things  a few hours
