I was told that Casablanca does not need the I-134 for a K1 visa anymore. So I did not send it to my fiance. Please let me know if anyone filing in Morocco knows the answer to this. He will receive this packet sometime soon and I need to get this to him if he does.

Need your input again on this. Thanks

It really pays to listen to those who have been through the process and have learned from experience. When my wife came her on a K-3 Visa, we were required to submit an I-134 Affidavit of support. The Affidavit is still on USCIS's website and it is required as far as I know. It is required. See: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=support .

Casa stopped asking for the affid, of support (i-134) last year. The consulate even updated the instructions in the interview packet and do not include it on their lists of papers needed.

So I will be safe not to fill this out and send it to him? But I need it for his AOS? Thanks

yes you will be safe if you do not send it to him for the interview. I know alot of us who interviewed shortly after the Consualte stopped requesting it sent it anyway to be safe. Not one of us had our fiances asked for it.

For AOS you will use a different form (I-864) and it uses pretty much the same evidence for support (tax transcripts, letter fro employer, pay advices etc).

One thing for AOS- when your fiance goes for the medical exam- be sure he gets a xeroxed copy of the vaccination supplement form- you will need it when getting ready to file for AOS. Maybe you know this, but it was on my mind of things that the consulate doesn;t tell y ou about.

It really pays to listen to those who have been through the process and have learned from experience.

The question centered around the USE in Casablanca and there is no indication as to what USE you used and when it was used. USE's throughout the World have lattitude in dealing with a variety of issues and what is "required" in Manila may not be the same as Casablanca. Also consider that "requirements" change from person to person and visa catagory.

We processed theough Manila and quite contrary to what has been insisted on, we did not submit an I-134.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a

public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. Submit your

petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal Income Tax Return (Form 1040) and Wage and Tax

Statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be

included. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form (signed and notarized less than one year

prior to your visa application) will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s

ability to be financially responsible for you.

"will be useful" does not make it a requirement. The other documents are indeed requirements to establish evidence of support.

During the process it is always best to err on the side of caution and while not expressly required we did prepare an I-134, which the USE refused to notorize and which was not asked for at the interview.

While your experiences are indeed beneficial, they are not universal. BTW did you process through the Casablanca Embassy?
