Hi everyone,

I'm filling the I-864 Form for my husband only. I'm US citizen and my husband is Italian. We have no children. I'm applying only for my husband but when I filling the I-864 form in the Part 5 at Item n° 8 Household Size it show "3" or show "1" but the correct number is "2".
I can't change this number because it's show automatically and I will apply the form online. Why it show this error? How can I solve it?
I have follow the istructions:
in item n° 1 I entered  1 because is the number that I filled in "Part 3 Item n° 29"
item  n° "2" is filled automatically with 1
item n° "3" (If you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse) I entered 1
But:
If I click on item "1" (provide the number you entered in Part 3., Item  Numer 29) the Household Size show "1" - Pic. 1

If I click on item "8" (Household Size) it show "3" - Pic. 2
If i close an re-open the file it show me "1" - Pic. 3
It' crazy but I need to filling this form and I need to fill it  right wthout error that could cause delays.

Thanks

Remove entry from item 3. It says on top to not count any person twice. You already counted your spouse in item 1 so item 3 should not be filled in.

Yes, Item 3 is confusing if filing for a spouse.  As @powerpuff stated leave item 3 blank.

Good Luck!

Item 1 should be 1, not 0.

Correct.  The I-864 is the most complicated form to get right.  Read carefully, and respond accurately, to each and every question.  Also follow the excellent step by step instructions you must download separately.

I think the only way to fix this is to manually correct the errors and then print the form before signing it. Then I scan it and send it.  The PDF file is not very functional. Now I can't edit item "1" (provide the number you entered in Part 3., Item Numer 29). It always shows "0" and is not editable even by acting from item 29 Part. 3

No.  You've made one or more errors, not the form.  Your first error could be that you are not using an adobe product, ("Adobe Reader" is free.), you counted your spouse twice, or you do not have a 1 earlier in the form as the total number of immigrants you are sponsoring. But yes, you can print, edit, sign, and scan as an alternative.
