Does getting a second medical check extend the time limit?

My fiance already did the medical check for the final interview which is next month. But we are thinking about her moving to America around January.

 

She said by then we would only have a few weeks to get married. We were wondering if she did another medical check much closer to the interview date, would it give us more time once she is in America to get married, or would nothing change?

Your medical check is valid for six months from the time it was performed. You need a valid medical check and a k1 visa to enter the country. 
 

From the moment you enter the USA you have 90 days to marry and file for your adjustment of status. At this point, the validity of the medical examination does not matter anymore.

So if we got a second medical check next month, that would give us more time for her to get here since the six month clock would reset right?

if you enter in January you have 90 days from that. Not when the medical is. You can arrive 179 days after the medical and you have 90 days to marry or you can enter 1 day (in theory) after the medical and you still have 90 days to marry. It will be the exact same and you have 90 days from that point. The medical becomes irrelevant once you step on US soil

just to add the visa and medical are linked so if you don’t enter within the 6 months of your current medical, you might need to reapply for visa as well to be reissued

NO.

 

Does she have a valid visa already?  She MUST enter before the K-1 expires, which is six months from the medical.

Not sure why everyone is so focused on the medical.  The only thing relevant here is that the visa holder MUST enter the US before the visa expires.

 

OP, you need to marry within 90 days of her being admitted on a K-1 visa.

What the other users are saying on the forum is the point I tried to make (but I clearly didn't do it well enough):

The amount of time you get to marry after entering the USA on a K-1 visa is, and always will be, 90 days.
 

The amount of time you have to enter the USA is 179 days after your medical exam (provided you have a valid K-1 visa in your passport).
