Hi ... So I am the derivative applicant who is still in Administrative processing.  On 16th September the Embassy sent an email which read:

Quote

Dear Applicant/Petitioner,

We are glad to inform that our office is ready for further processing of the subject case and requires the following to be completed before the final review of the case.

  • Original Passport, if not submitted already
  • Create / Update profile to submit / receive documents via courier, use link https://ustraveldocs.com/pk/

My passport is already with the Embassy. It has been 11 days since this email and no news. Meanwhile the defendants in the writ of mandamus have sought additional time for reply. Would one continue to remain in limbo?

Update: The Consulate sent an email asking for the AP applicant's (@Grey Wolf) passport even though we submitted it in August. This email was sent to the petitioner and the applicant. It was not in response to a query email. This is the USTravelDocs Live Chat for Pakistan confirming the passport was delivered to post.

Here is the email they sent today:

We would like to know if it is possible that they misplaced his passport.

Also, this looks like a good sign to me.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Update: His visa was issued :)))

Edit: It took 1 month and 13 days for his visa to be issued after the rest of the family had theirs issued.

It is reasonable to assume that they sorted out the passport issue then.
