Declaration of Financial Support (I-134)

Hello,

 

My fiancée just had her K1 interview with the US Embassy in Thailand. They told her she was approved and took copies of all of her paperwork except the Declaration of Financial Support (I-134). Should they have taken this form as well? She said they looked at it but didn’t take it. I’m worried that they forgot to take it and it will cause an issue when they try to process the visa. I was under the impression that they would need to submit this document to the US Government. I’ve tried calling the embassy but cannot reach a live person.

Don't worry boss, it's a normal procedure, they did not forget to take but they thought that's all what was needed from her at the moment.

I 134 isn't really a required document, it's a non binding document.  US Embassy in Philippines was telling applicants at one time it wasn't ever needed.
