Cannot be sure about definite but there is high possibility of getting DS-5535 for a male from MENA countries including China and Pakistan. Mentally prepare for it if you are asking this question for yourself. Be positive about the outcome of the interview.

yeah I have to be ready for the long wait I guess. Thank you for your reply!

ANy confirmation that a male from China is the same as male from MENA countries? Also how much weighting is travelling to other countries factor into a ds5355?

Another update today, last two were Monday 4/8 and 4/15.

Expected one yesterday so it follows the weekly on Monday, but didn't happen, though it updated today.

Still nothing from the consulate (and my email is still unanswered that was sent on March 28). 🤷🏽‍♂️

This is good sign. I have the strong feeling that you will be cleared very soon.

For all those new here, I've been in AP for almost 15 months. I still have not been asked for anything whatsoever. I have zero criminal record and no reasonable reason why this should be happening, yet here we are.

This system is broken and broken bad. More than likely you can expect at least a year and a half to even hear back anything. They do not care about you. At all.

My advice as someone who has been here - seriously consider if you even want this. At this point I'm almost ready to just give up.

I don't feel wanted by this country at all. I don't feel supported in any way from the embassy and I honestly regret that I've wasted so much of my life waiting for this.

If I had known how long this would take, I truthfully never would have even bothered trying to move to the USA. Time with family members is worth so much more than the separation and pain that this process causes to so many people. People who would be upstanding and valuable members to US society.

As I said, you do you, but don't expect to hear anything for a year and a half from your interview date. It's pessimistic but unfortunately realistic too.

In the eyes of the US Immigration system, you are not special and nothing you do can speed this up. Emails don't work and neither do WOMs. It doesn't matter if you have kids or anything either. You are nothing but a number in an ever growing pile of bureaucratic BS.

Since this is Department of State, which is regulated by the executive branch (i.e. President), legislative branch help (i.e. representatives, senators), can't do anything about it.

But POTUS or VPOTUS absolutely can!

I would suggest everyone in this thread (+ their citizen sponsor) to send a message to https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/ . Hopefully if we send enough messages, it'll be clear there's something to be done here.

Sent one to the president, VP, and the "help with federal agency".

Like @Canucklehead is saying, this process is so unbelievably broken. Something has to change

We had an update yesterday and sure enough another today with an email from the consulate to redo medical and send the passport (and 2 passport photos) 😭😭😭

There is hope! The pattern of more regular updates leading to an email from the consulate seems to be legit.

Woot! Congratulations.

Super happy for you! Very helpful you did not have the DS-5535 it would seem.

Regardless, it shows that there is still something going on at Montreal, albeit slowly.

Hey all, so our interview was the 18th, we saw an 'update' on the CEAC website saying refused on the 18th, and then again showed 19th, and latest on 23rd with same refused status. we sent the form back on the 20th. Is that regular pattern of updates? Any conclusions?
