Hi everyone! Sorry for being late to tell you that my husband’s visa got issued! I really feel like reaching out to your senator or congressman helps! Maybe we should’ve reached out sooner but at least the visa’s finally approved and issued. It’s been such a difficult process and I feel for everyone here as many tears have been shed but even if it feels like all hope is lost, there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel so stay positive and hopeful! Here’s our timeline:

I-130 filed:

August 25, 2021

NVC case creation date:

November 13, 2022

Montreal interview and received DS-5535:

January 29, 2024

***Status was REFUSED for months with some updates here and there***

We would email the consulate once a month for updates and would get the same response as everyone else.

We emailed the senator to reach out to consulate:

October 10, 2024

Senator’s office reached out to consulate:

October 18, 2024

Consulate requests photos and new medicals:

November 4, 2024

Mailed the new photos using FEDEX:

November 18, 2024

Doctor sent the new medicals to consulate:

November 20, 2024

Emailed senator to reach out to consulate to ask if they received the requested documents:

November 24, 2024

Senator’s office reached out to consulate about receiving the requested documents:

November 25, 2024

Consulate replied to senator’s office about receiving the new medicals but not the new photos since mails get delivered at an off-site facility and would take time to reach them:

November 26, 2024

CEAC status changed to ISSUED:

December 3, 2024

Stamped passport received in the mail:

December 5, 2024

For the DV Lottery 2023, I submitted the DS-5535, and the AP only took about three months. But when I had my EB-2 interview at the end of May 2024, the officer told me that the AP/clearance from last year was for a different application and wasn’t related to my EB-2 case. So, I was told to submit a new DS-5535, even though nothing had changed in my DS-5535.

You didn’t understand my question.

Do you know why you were asked to fill out a DS-5535?

If you had to guess based on your own profile, what is it in your background information that they might have wanted to do a DS-5535?

You guys are about to push to part 4 in  about two days tops.
