so  on Dec 2 i got the email to send passport in.    used Purolator, was received on dec 5,  no tracking, wasn't an option for some reason.  I have not seen a case update or gotten a response on if they have even received it.    how long before they typically will update on such a thing?    IR1      also has anyone heard about them forgiving 2nd medicals, I just passed my 6 month mark.

I think it takes additional time for the embassy to actually receive your documents as our mail goes to an offsite mailing address. I sent mine on Nov 8th and didn’t receive a case update until Nov the 21st. I haven’t heard of them forgiving medicals, you’ll most likely receive an email requesting a second medical. Hope this helped!

yah  i had to go to a full office and pay for it.  same cost as premium.   I have it set to return using them.   tehy made me type in a business name,  wasn't exactly sure what to put and they kind of just insisted on taking charge,  I made sure the address was correct though.  they said no signature at this time.  I should have clarified.   I meant no signature upon receival,  not tracking.

They should have included a link on how to send documents in the request email. I had to login to my account and create a certificate with the address and info the mail room probably needed.

Hi,

I received an email from the Montreal Consulate this morning, requesting the following documents:

Updated Medical Exam,

Two recent passport-sized photos, and

Passport.

Which shipping service would you recommend for sending these documents—UPS or Purolator?

Also, I had my interview using the passport from my home country. However, I received my Canadian passport a few months ago and have already emailed them a picture of it. Should I send my Canadian passport or the original one from my home country to the Consulate?

Thank you in advance for your input!

Hi Adam,
I have a similar case as well like yours, got a Canadian passport recently, when did you send them an email with picture of Canadian passport? did you get any reply from their side about any instruction? Let me know whenever you received any confirmation that now on which passport they will stamp visa either on home country passport or Canadian passport?

My lawyer sent the picture of my Canadian Passport at the beginning of November. My lawyer and I have not received any reply from them yet.

Hello Adam,

I remember your story from the DV interview in 2023 where you DS-5535 was for 3 months and now it seems for your EB-2 case, you got another DS-5535 that was cleared in 3.5 months. Do you have any idea what could it be in your profile or history that has triggered a DS-5535 twice? I am just really curious.

Country of birth/nationality? Travel history? Occupation?

For the DV Lottery 2023, I submitted the DS-5535, and the AP only took about three months. But when I had my EB-2 interview at the end of May 2024, the officer told me that the AP/clearance from last year was for a different application and wasn’t related to my EB-2 case. So, I was told to submit a new DS-5535, even though nothing had changed in my DS-5535.
