Hi! Fedex delivered ours but it wasn’t signed by anyone (our fault for not including requirement for a signature) so I’m kind of stressing out about it but we did put that exact address. We asked the senator to reach out to the consulate and they sent this. I think I saw someone get the same response about their documents being received at an offsite processing facility. How long does it usually take until the visa unit reaches it? Getting anxious here. Thank you!

same here, got an answer on Monday saying it hasn’t been received by the visa unit. I think it’ll just take some time. I’m planning to follow up in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for info

What email did you use to contact the embassy? Is there any specific email format?

Depends what you're wanting it for.

The regular emails went to Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov

But honestly, I think they marked one of my email addresses as spam. So I'd advise to really space out your check ins. Maybe do a monthly schedule.

No specific "format" that I used. I just included my case number in the subject line.

Arranging shipping related inquiries was through a different email but I'm assuming that's not what you're asking

Update on this. They confirmed receipt of the information they requested. They sent me a notice stating that they've escalated this case to their help desk team.

They said I'll be notified when they find a workaround solution for my circumstance.

And an update on this situation. I received confirmation from the support staff that my document's courier destination address has been changed from the Canada Post location to my residential address.

I received an email with the receipt of the services I paid for 4 months ago with the updated info and in that email was notified that my tracking number will be sent directly to my cell phone.

A question - does it still move the needle if a relative of mine who is an American citizen and lives there gets their congressman/senator to send a case inquiry email to the US consulate in Montreal or does the person have to be my immediate family?

The status changed to 'Issued' today.

Passport at local BLS office now for pickup.
Next: Does anyone have a good post/guide to what is needed when crossing the border with IR1 VISA

and I need to update the address (from whats mentioned on DS-260) where the green card needs to be delivered, would that be possible at the Port of Entry ?

It seems there is a lot of variation, but ours was confirmed as reaching the visa unit November 20 after it was received October 30 (we sent it October 29). This is ~15 business days from the offsite processing facility to the visa unit. (Sample size =1 but hopefully helpful!)

Thanks! Please let us know when your case updates to “issued”. I hope we all get that good news soon.

Hi...we are trying to send our passports from Toronto to the Montreal consulate. What the addresses of Purolator or BLS offices in Toronto. Do all Purolator offices handle passport and visa documents?

So do we need to call the Montreal consulate to generate a Authorized Courier receipt for FedEx? or can we use the one that is for Canada Post?
