Anyone here who has submitted second medical in early Oct.

How long does it takes to issue the visa?

Medical and passport submitted on Oct 10th.

Updates on Oct 11, 16, 23 and 30th.

Looks like they're working on them very slowly. Stay positive! - good news coming next week 🤞

hi all! I sent my passport to the consulate sept 25th. They said they never received it. I went to the courier service and they said it looks like the tracking says “shipment refused” and it should be sent back by purolator. There were 2 attempts for delivery both refused. I printed the courier in receipt label thing from the AIS website, courier service says all looks normal so they are not sure what happened. has anyone else experienced this? I’m wondering what I should do once I get my passport back.

Congratulations to those who got their visa issued recently! Just wondering whats the turnaround time to issue the visa once consulate receives passport photos and second medical. My passport was delivered on October 26th and medical was sent by doctor on October 30th. There was an update on ceac on Nov 1st, 4th and 5th. Checking everyday to see if status changed to Issued but ofcourse its still showing Refused. This wait this horrendous! 😔

I think it varies for everyone, I’ve seen some people get issued their visas in a week after consulate received their documents and I’ve seen others wait 2-3 weeks, I’ve even seen over a month for some ppl. Let’s just hope they speed things up 😢

How long to place a stamp? 🤔

I see many people starting to see approvals and issuances of their visas...congrats!

I know you're just trying to get to the next step and have plenty of USCIS trauma, but if you are considering citizenship in the future, start yourself a spreadsheet and begin tracking all of your travel.  You'll need it in the future for that application - anything to make the PTSD less!!

Good luck! 🍀

Superliminal has stated that he is no longer monitoring it. Looks like its locked. Not sure if he will be periodically updating it, especially with the amount of movement happening since Aug till now.

I did not see my name in the list, as I added right after my interview in Jan 2024, I am not sure who the deleted it. I am still waiting to get clear from DS 5535. My interview was on Jan 24, 2024, and category IR 5.

To anyone who has sent in their passport, updated medical, etc. I have a small piece of information. On the morning of Nov 5, an immigration officer called me to make arrangements to pick up my passport at the consulate in person before my medical exam expired on Nov 8.  He said that if that wasn't possible, I could do another medical exam but that could possibly delay my visa issuance by 2 months.  I chose to pick up in person and entered the US on the 7th.  Just wanted to put it out there that it seems they are aware that they are backlogged by up to 2 months.

Please remove the filter from the spread sheet, looks like someone used the filter for document request but then did not unfiltered it. It is difficult to see in this way that how many cases are still pending. Whoever has access to the excel tracking sheet please unfiltered it.

Please review instructions on the first page/sheet on how to update the filtering. Superliminal likely updated it to that view before going AFK.

Hope this helps!

Well keep in mind that in your case, you would have had to wait for a new medical and passport photos and then send them to the consulate, and that in itself is a whole process by which the consulate then need to then get it from their courier facility and then review which would align with the inconsistent timelines we're seeing now. Some got their IV within 1 week, others in 2-3 weeks, some are 5+ weeks.

I think those who have submitted their documents sept/oct should be hearing back fairly shortly. I do recall that one of the people (CarmenD) on here waited around 6-7 weeks after submitting everything. Stay positive yall, its coming!!

Hi...has anyone travelled by road to the US after DS 5535. My spouse recently got a DS 5535 and is travelling from Toronto to visit me in the US? Were there a lot of questions at the border?

Hi,

Yes me and my wife got DS5535 and Resume for IR5 visa, traveld many times via Niagara Falls crossings . no issues ever or any questions around or Green card visa application.

Same with us -- my husband (Canadian with pending IR-1 visa after 5535) and I (American living in Canada until visa comes) and our baby (dual) cross frequently by land to spend time with my family and stay at our second home. There has never been a question about his pending visa application. The only consideration we have is the number of days he's present in the US as a visitor and the fact that he doesn't have permission to work there, so we're always prepared to answer questions about that and make sure we state when he's going back to Canada. They sometimes ask why we cross so frequently but visiting family and friends has never raised any eyebrows. Otherwise just normal customs stuff.
