My husband is coming up on 1 year mark of waiting. Is there anything we need to do with documents or anything else to keep the file active?

Your case will not become inactive while waiting for AP to be completed.  Maybe email the consulate every few months asking for case update, although that will yield the same reply while case is in AP.  My husband interviewed on July 21, 2023.  Still in limbo 😢

No nothing at this point you need to do. When they are ready to proceed they will email you with instructions on what they require you to resubmit and/or update.

Ok. Thank you. Have you received your passport pack with visa yet?

Ok. Thank you. Ya we email the consulate every few months, and of course eventually get the standard reply. My husband interviewed August 1, 2023, still waiting. 😫

Hey there. I renewed my passport 7 months ago while in AP for DS5535. I DID NOT send the consulate any information about my new passport. When the consulate emailed me requesting my passport last month I simply sent both my new passport and old passport with a little hand written note attached explaining that my previous passport had expired.

Thank you for your reply.

Hello,

I would like to share my experience and see if anyone has a similar situation, I had my interview in April 2024, they kept my passport, no 221g, no DS5535, only resume was requested.

I have been waiting for more than 3 months with no updates, after I inquired they sent me the regular response stating that “this case is currently pending review by a consular officer”.

If anyone can give me some information that would be highly appreciated.

 Thanks

I wrote to my Republican Congressman despite the odds and shockingly got a reply today that they would be happy to contact them on our behalf. They sent me a form to fill out and send back.

I don't know if that will actually help move things along, I know others have not had success with it, but I don't think it will hurt. :)

Hello everyone,

I've been going through several posts and I'm a bit confused. Currently, I'm in Administrative Processing for EB2-NIW. I wanted to ask if it's permissible to travel to the US by car and/or flight?

I've gathered that flying to the US with a return ticket is not an issue, but I'm uncertain about driving there instead. Please let me know your ideas.

Hi...my wife is on administrative processing. She drove to the US. She was pulled for secondary questioning...but was allowed in without any hassles...

Glad she was allowed in.  Which border crossing?

You’ll have to wait.  It shouldn’t be much longer for you
