General question for anyone who had to do a second medical:

Did you have to do blood tests again?  What about x-rays?

I originally submitted blood test documents showing that I am immune (for example chicken pox), or have had the required vaccines but at my medical exam, I had to do a second blood test to show negative results for syphilis.  Without getting too graphic, I'm what technicians and nurses call a "bad poke".  Low blood pressure, hard to find veins, etc.  If possible, I prefer to get my blood work done with some planning and grouped together.  If I have to put another blood test on my to-do list, I'd rather know sooner than at the appointment.  thanks in advance 😁

Anyone can correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding is that if they ask for a second medical it is essentially doing everything again that you did for the first medical.

You do not need to repeat the immunity test again or vaccinations except for COVID (Booster is due within the year of next medical). X-RAY, Blood work and Physical/Mental health checks will be done again.

Congratulations to all the recent passport request recipients. I'm glad to see things actually moving again.

Does anyone know if it is possible to complete the second medical before the request? I know it's generally not advised due to the time constraints but I feel we're very close to the request as well (April 2023 interview) so it would be nice to have that done and ready to submit.

Congratulations to all who received clearance and passport request.

Does anyone know the timeline on how long from once you mail in your passport to expect it back? been waiting now just over a month with my last update on June 14th ( i assume that is when they picked it up from the post office).

Congrats to all this week! Love seeing the progress happening.

I'm currently leaving Montreal with my stamped passport in hand. What a week... hasn't even fully hit me yet. Can't wait to be reunited with my spouse and start living life again without this unknown lingering in the background.

Will provide a final update once I cross over in the next week or two. Have a great weekend all.

Congrats!!

How come you got your visa stamped in 3 days? Did you submit your passport in person?

Yes I delivered it in person, got call few hours later to come pick it up

i had a very tight timeline of when my medical expires so I wasn't going to trust mailing it in. Got my butt on a plane as fast as I could.

Did you have to make an appointment for this or you were able to just show up and drop it off?

Hi, I am planning to do the same. I have my passport delivered to MTL last week and CEAC shows issued on July 5th. But they have not mailed my passport out yet. I need to travel this Saturday and I am thinking about going there personally to pick it up.  Do you think I can just show up there without an appointment? Thanks!
