WOOOHHHHHHH!

My status changed to ISSUED today.

Still waiting on tracking. I paid for the courier service back before my interview.

It's not over until my passport is back in my hands. So I'll update the timeline and all of that when I get tracking for my passport and receive it.

Congratulations what was your timeline??

Do you mind sharing if you filed the mandamus or took other escalation steps?

I’ll finalize my timeline when my passport gets delivered. In the meantime, you can look at it in my accounts “about me” or description. Almost all update dates are there

I didn’t file a mandamus. I was advised by my lawyers to not do so unless wait times surpassed 6 months. I was only the 221g camp since September of this year.

I did email a congressman. I did not receive any reply or correspondence from them.

i had been emailing the consulate regularly and most recently had an international job offer come up. I sent them an email stating that I need to set my travel documents in order (they kept my passport after my interview).

When I originally scheduled my interview at the beginning of the year, I immediately arranged my document delivery on the website and I also chose to pay for premium delivery to my house. I paid for this 7 months ago! I think once it says “issued” it’s too late to change the delivery. I dont know if they chose purolator because of the strike though, I didn’t get a choice in anything that’s just how they delivered it to me.

Silly question from my part: When the delivery is premium, does it mean that it's another  couriers other than Canada Post that fulfill it?

I chose before interview "Pick up Location in downtown Montreal with the name Post Canada" ,will this be impacted by this strike?

Thanks

Thanks to God, I finally got my long-awaited email of submitting passport and medical. my case details

IR5, interview Jan 24, 2014 (my husband and I, we both received DS5535, and I also received resume request, everything submitted on Jan 25)

I got today email for submitting the passport and new medical, but my husband is still in AP. I am so happy that I will join my daughter soon hopefully.

Please advise me should I use FedEx or Purolator for sending the passport. Any suggestions

Congrats! Was your interview on 2014 or 2024?

Also what's your occupation that triggered a resume request since I was asked for my resume too as I have a PhD in AI

Thanks for sharing the good news.

What do you mean by unsolicited/solicited?

Thank you! Solicited means that either I sent an email asking for an update, or our congressman contacted the embassy asking for an update. Unsolicited means our case received an update but we didn’t request it. Generally you want to look out for Unsolicited updates because this means they are actively working on your case!

I can't believe it - we are ISSUED as of today.

For context:
Interview Aug 15

Request for Docs Sept 13

Rec'd all docs Oct 15

Asked for the SAME rec'd docs (SMH) Nov 15

Issued - today!

Word advice to my friends here - REACH OUT TO SENATOR AND CONGRESSMAN. It is the reason someone looked at our case!

QUESTIONS

1) What did people do about the Canada Post situation?
2) How have folks recieved their stuff

3) How long from when you saw issued status (saw on CEAC status site but did not get an email) until you got the email with tracking number?
4) How long until you received the actual passport? I saw for some people it was one day?

Thanks!!

Congrats!! I agree about contacting a senator or congressman, our case moved along immediately after we did too! to answer your questions:

1) and 2)The consulate sent me my passport by purolator instead, but it’s worth noting I paid for the expedited service straight to my house

3)I saw my status on CEAC in the morning of Nov 21st and a couple hours later received my email with tracking number and shipping confirmation

4)Received my passport the next day (Nov 22) after it was issued!

Hey everyone,

I know people have discussed this already.

So, I paid the additional cost of the courier service back in September. But I selected a pick up at a Canada Post location.

@mariagomez I saw your post indicating that Purolator was used from their side.

When you received your tracking email, was there any option to reroute with them?

I assume there would be? Anybody done a switch up; not with delivery method per say but location. AIS doesn't even allow me to pick my address.

We are  in the same boat, chose Canada post location. Any updates or tips would be great, please do share.

Update for anyone who has selected canada post for delivery of the passport back to you, you can call one of the numbers on the link below to choose either the premium delivery to your home or a different courier service pick up location as Canada post is on stirke:
https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/niv/information/contact_us

I chose BLS as the courier for pickup, I am on Ontario.
