Hello everyone! Today I am pleased to say this will most likely be my last update on this thread, as I’ve been issued my visa today! I wanted to post a final update for everyone in hopes that maybe my timeline can help someone else like you guys helped me. The following updates happened AFTER i attended my interview and I was given the DS5535 Form, which I returned on May 3rd (same day as my interview):

  • may 4 (unsolicited)
  • may 10 (unsolicited)
  • may 28 (unsolicited)
  • august 28 (solicited)
  • september 5 (unsolicited)
  • september 19 (unsolicited)
  • october 4 (solicited-contacted congressman)
  • october 10 (received email asking for my passport by my congressman)
  • october 21 (consulate email asking for updated medical)
  • october 29 (unsolicited)
    • november 7 re-did medical exam
    • november 12 office sent the exam to consulate
  • november 18 (changed to case received)
  • november 20 (case approved)
  • november 21 (visa issued, passport mailed back)

This has been such a long process for my fiancé and me, but if anyone has any questions about what we did or anything else please feel free to message me!

Congratulations!! I’m also K-1 visa I had done my medical on the 8th but it was only sent to the us consulate yesterday. I sent my passport and it says that it was signed for on November 12th. However I do not see any updates on my ceac, the last update is Oct 23rd which is when they requested my documents. Does anyone know why there’s no unsolicited updates?

I am also K-1 and haven't had any unsolicited updates since the day they asked for my passport and updated medical on the 8th. Doctor sent results Tuesday and it doesn't show - so you're not alone if that is any relief. 🤍

I know of another person that has had their visa issued two weeks ago. (Nov 4 week) and since then its been radio silence. I really hate that there is no consistency to any of this.

@221gM @candy895 @DuBrun20 @g_canadian @apsincejune23 @EveK I think we all had our documents sent in around the same time. Has anyone gotten their visa issued or any new case status updates?

Our visa was issued Tuesday Nov 5, and we received the passport that Friday nov 8. We paid for the expedited shipping which is why I think it was so fast. Our passport was delivered Oct. 4 and medical Oct 11. Good luck to everyone!!

I am at a loss for words at this point with how inconsistent the consulate is. Next week will be waiting for week 5 after all documents have been submitted.

Hello, Does the request for my passport indicate that administrative processing is complete? Or is there a chance they've asked for it as part of the background checks, such as reviewing the stamps in my passport? Please note that I traveled for vacation purposes to two countries after submitting my DS-260. I am thinking this might be the case since they requested my passport within 48 hours of the interview after refusing under 221g and requesting DS-5535. I’d appreciate hearing others’ experiences or opinions on this. Please note that my passport was delivered on October 18, so it’s been over a month, and there have been no updates since November 6.

I’m sure it’s coming soon!! I tried to give myself 2 months before starting to worry. The wait after sending the passport was the worst of it for me, so I understand the anxiety, but try to take care of yourself in the mean time (easier said than done from the other side)

Thank you! - The issue here is that they've had my passport now since it was requsted in August. They then requested medical and photos in early Oct. If were looking at since the passport was delivered its been 2+ months and currently at 1 month after medical and photos were received. We were hoping to be reunited for thanksgiving, but doesnt look like thats going to happen.🤕

I just arrived to the US with my IR1. I paid the USCIS fee, is there a way to track the progress of my green card/ when the SSN will arrive? I am on my USCIS account but don't know what option to select. Thank you!

I picked up my visa, paid the fee and entered the US on the same day.  My SSN was issued the next day and I received it 10 days later.

To track your green card, you can create a USCIS account with the information on your visa  https://myaccount.uscis.gov
