Wonder if they will ask us to update the DS260 after sending the passport and medical reports. Typically after how long do they ask to update a DS260? 6 months or 1 year?

I think others said it opens up after 1 year

Hi All,

Here is a good news. It might give everyone some hope.

My visa is issued on Nov 15th.

I haven't received any email regarding courier yet. Canada post strike might delay who knows.

I do not know how to request for other courier options. If anyone has any idea please let me know.

What is your timeline?

Congratulations, can we pick up passport in person instead of mailing option, did you request in person pick up of passport, or they just offer it to you.

I did not make this request, they offered it to me as an alternative to completing another medical exam.

did they realy allow you to pick up in person?   i have seen a few reports saying they are ignoring that request, you say anything in particular?   also what visa are you on?   im ir1

Yes, they did.  I did not make this request, they offered it to me as an alternative to completing another medical exam.  Info about my case/category are in the sidebar, timeline and signature below.

Is US Consulate Montreal going to be using Canada Post, since there seems to be no definite date when the strike could end? Or are they offering an alternative?

I am so sorry this is happening. its beyond frustrating how they keep dropping the ball on these things. 👺

Has it been more than or close to a full year since your interview? Did you update or upload anything new to your NVC/DS260?

Yes, its been more than a year since my interview. I had to only update my travel information. Hope this will not create another delay with the process. 😣

I'm glad your case processed in a timely manner, however, I don't think so it is because of EB case. I'm waiting for my EB visa to be cleared (after DS-5535) +11 month after interview and still I didn't get any unsolicited update.

Sorry to hear that...

Yeah I made that assumption based on my communication with people who were interviewed in China, most people waited no longer than 6 months for clearance. Have you contacted Montreal consulate for updates?

This really helps. How do I send the documents to them? My spouses's medical is on Dec 9th. Do we use BLS to send them?

We have been asked to send my spouse's passport to the Montreal consulate. With the ongoing Canada Post strike, who do I send it to them? Is there an email at which I can write to enquire.

Thanks

Medical is sent through eportal  by the medical office. You need not to do anything there.

Oct 1 ( 3rd solicited update) is the day I received an email from congressman where they requested medical and passport. Consulate did not send me any email.
