Any advice for how to actually get the payment to go through? Never got an error --- just frozen on that payment processing...then log back in and it sows "In process" for both fees.....

Used both chrome (first payment) and then Microsoft edge for second.....

If it says in process then why do you think there’s a problem? Sounds perfectly normal unless it was more than a week ago that you paid?

because it never confirmed. I eventually refreshed the page after a longggg time of it being frozen. When i go to the receipts tab it also has no transaction ID # or anything associated with it

‘In process’ is normal for at least a couple of days. It takes up to a week for payment to go through.

“After submitting your payments online, please allow up to 1 week for NVC to process your fees before continuing to the next step. You will not be able to access Form DS-260 until NVC has processed your payments.”

The NVC website is quite glitchy in general. I had this problem for myself. I did find that if the payment didn't get through to the "receipt" portion of the payment process that it was later rejected. My best advice would be to try it within a few days with Microsoft Edge, which I found to have better luck than Chrome.

Thanks! How many times did you have to try for it to finally stop freezing and not doing anything and going through? Any idea how many days I have to wait to try again :(

one freaking thing after another with this system/process :(

We had to try 3 times 🙄. You would only be able to make a payment once the payment was rejected. For me it was rejected on day 3 and day 5 of payment. One option you CAN do is use IE mode:

1.) Open Edge Browser

2.) Open settings

3.) Search for Internet Explorer Mode

4.) Enable IE mode

5.) Copy and paste the CEAC link to the list of IE Mode websites

6.) Exit out of Edge and reenter.

7.) Retry payment

Like I said, the NVC site is quite glitchy, but the browser compatibility is a huge thing. I recall other people finding a way to bypass the browser compatibility issue on chrome, which worked for me, but then I was unable to upload documents, so definitely try accessing via Edge.

Good luck!

Wow…you would think it being 2024….in the USA ….the above would not be a thing for months on end.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

thank goodness I decided to try this today despite still waiting for parent 2’s approval going on 2 weeks now.

If it says ‘in process’ then that would imply it’s gone through - mine said ‘in process’ for 4 days then switched to ‘paid’. But give it a week (as per the link above), hopefully it will change before then.

Good luck.
