Best of luck! Do you have conditions to push for the expedite?

Hi! Just to let you know we received an email today saying our case was received by NVC. As far as I know our I-824 is still pending and I didn’t expedite, so maybe you’ll get good news too!

Wow that’s amazing news!! Congrats!

We are still pending, the wait is still killing us but hopefully it takes the same way as your case!

How many days do you have between the I-130 approval and the NVC notification?

It was only 56 days between approval and the NVC notification so I don’t think we lost much time.

A lot of I-824 cases at California seem to take about 100 days to be approved so hopefully you’ll hear from them sooner or later.

That was fast, ours is currently at 55 days so maybe today? 😂

Luckily we are processed by California so as you mentioned it should still be alright I think.

Was your I-824 to fix the missing location from the I-130 as well? I don’t remember all the history

Fingers crossed!

I had actually put the wrong embassy in the I-130 so USCIS thought I wanted AOS instead of Consulate Processing.

Putting the wrong embassy will not cause this problem.  Putting that you will adjust status will, as will indicating a consulate/embassy....AND....a location to adjust status.  Putting the wrong Consulate or Embassy will not cause the problem.  NVC will just assign it to the one that serves the physical address of the foreign spouse/applicant.

Woo hoo! I’m so happy for you!!

It turns out our I-824 was actually approved! Check back tomorrow and the status will probably change for you too.

With all the horror stories 60 days wasn’t too bad at all. I’m very thankful!

Oh wow, I will check tomorrow. Indeed I expected 5 months to a year and it "only" took 55 days for us.

Let's keep update each other for the next steps

Definitely! I’m hoping for an interview in February/ March here in London. Apparently there’s about a 4 month wait between DQ and interview date at the moment.

Oh wow I expected it shorter..

From the timelines I have seen the one in Montréal, Canada goes pretty fast like 1 month but I will wait a bit before sending everything to the NVC (maybe end December/early January)

I’ve seen Canada is at 12 months or so on Discord! Apparently they have a pretty big backlog.

What’s your consulate?
