Previous Green Card Holder

My husband and I moved back to Canada after spending 24 years in the US. I am a US/Canadian and he is Canadian.  My husband abandoned his green card after we returned to Canada and we’ve now decided to move back to the US.  I filed the 1-130 petition in July 2024.  Is there anyone here who has had a green card, abandoned it and then reapplied later?  If so, how long did it take to get a new green card?

If he formally rescinded it, then it's a brand new process and will take the same time as any other spousal case.  Montreal cases are typically about 18 months.

I am in a similar situation, my spouse is an American and I am German. We lived in the US and then 6 years ago moved back to Germany and I formally abandoned my Green Card.  Now we are looking to move back to the US and submitted a new I-130 in July 10th 2023 and we are still waiting for approval.

We moved back to Canada in the fall of 2021 and he filed the I-407 in early 2022.

As stated previously, it takes the same amount of time as any other spousal application and is not less complicated or any more simple other than you have some experience, the second time around.  The process including Montreal interview (the only consulate in Canada that manages spousal cases) is taking an average of 18-24 months.
