Case Forwarded to London

Hi everyone,

 

I received an Email from Dublin Embassy this morning that was responding about my inquiry for next steps but instead was told even if my fiancée holds Irish citizenship since she resides in Northern Ireland the case will be forwarded to London.

Does anyone know the process of when a case is forwarded to a new embassy or how long it usually takes to get instructions from the next embassy? I'm just really confused on all of this and wanting to hear from others who may have faced the same troubles as I.

It will delay things a bit unfortunately, she should have picked London if she’s in the UK rather than Ireland. Timing will depend on the type of case.

Yeah, currently its a K1 Visa. Originally we thought Dublin would have been the way to go since she only holds Irish citizenship per the Good Friday Agreement. Unfortunately when we consulted an immigration Lawyer they were unaware on what todo so we took a gamble and did Dublin since she only lives two hours from there.

If she lives in NI instead of ROI then she falls under London.
