Hi. I sent my I-130 & I-130A along with the supporting docs to the USCIS and they received it on July 22 for my spouse as US citizen. Just sent I-485, I-864, I-765 and I-693 along with supporting docs yesterday too, so the USCIS should get it in a few days which makes it beginning of September. My question is what the next step is? Is it the biometrics appointment letter we should be waiting for as our 3rd step in the process? If so, how long does that take after these submissions to get the bio appointment letter? Next question I am wondering whether the whole process for getting a g.c. counts from the time they get I-130 or I-485? Also, just heard that many people get their spousal green cards without interviews in 4 months after covid assuming if all the docs are in order? Is this really the case because I heard that it woul take 7-8 months prior to covid. Did things change for the better? Would appreciate some clarification. Thanks in advance.

Waiting for NOA1 receipt. It might take up to 10 weeks to receive

Usually, the biometric letter will come after NOA1. Most of the time it happens within a few weeks of that but in other cases it takes a few months.

It’s true that they take faster these days, I’m not sure about 4 months fast though. It definitely was a lot longer than 7-8 months for many prior to Covid, more like 1-3 years.

Hi all. Just wanted to update this thread by saying that my husband's biometrics appointment arrived and we're going tomorrow for the fingerprints. He's background is clear so now I'm wondering how long the clearance will take and how does it work... and most importantly, for how long will have to wait for the results. Could you please tell me the next step in the process once the biometrics clears? What should we expect as our next step in this journey? :) Thanks so much!

Hi all. So I have an update to my husband's I-764 and it was approved a month after he did his biometrics, which was fast. However, we are wondering what's the next step now that's approved? We will get the SS and the EAD shortly, but after that I believe nothing is supposed to be done on our end, right? If so, what are we waiting for after this, for example? The green card or some other steps the USCIS will let us know? I'm confused as I have submitted all of the forms by now. The only thing that I haven't submitted is the evidences of marriage like lease agreement, etc. We are having a baby in a month an a half too, btw. I only provided a personal statement with my I-130 package at the beginning where I wrote how we've met and that at that time I was 10 weeks pregnant, but hadn't provided the ultrasound copy nor anything like that.

I-765 (EAD) gives the intending immigrant an opportunity to work while waiting for their I-485 to be adjudicated. You’re waiting for movement on I-485 and for the interview to be scheduled.

You should have provided proof of bonafide marriage with I-485. If your I-485 case number starts with IOE (electronic case), then you can upload marital evidence in the account when it’s linked to the case. If not, then either USCIS will issue an RFE for that or you will bring that evidence to the I-485 interview.

Thanks for the reply. No, I did not send the bonafides, so I am not sure how to submit those online now or should I wait until they request them?
