Traveling to US after NOA2

Any issues with my beneficiary visiting the US on a tourist visa after NOA2 / I-130 approval?

Visiting is fine (at the discretion of CBP).  Beneficiary should be prepared to show that he/she will return to home country after the visit.

If I-130 is approved, beneficiary shouldn't be too far off from receiving immigrant visa. This is a clean and easy path to get GC. Why bother with the visit now?

Can you visit beneficiary instead?

No issues but scrutiny is possible.

 

I am currently collating things to travel to the US in October following NOA2 for I-129F and plan on taking the following:

• Full copy of I-129F application, NOA1, RFE and reply, NOA2.
• Letter from employer confirming employment terms (contracted full time/part time [til when]).
• Original contract of employment.
• Tenancy (rent) agreement.
• Bank statement (to evidence both proof of address and rent payment for October.

Once I have them, I will also take copies of the NVC letter/email, welcome pack from my embassy and, if available before then, any confirmation of medical/interview dates.

 

It is better to be over-prepared than under-prepared!
