Hello all!

New to the board and i just first want to thank everyone here for this great forum. I have been lurking, readign and learning from it for months

I m in a position that I am a little unsure about and am hoping that 1) I am in the right place to ask questions 2) someone out there has been in the same posiiton and can reassure me a little :help:

Ok, so here it is:

I was approved for my I140 in October 2006 as was my wife and my eldest daughter. We are originally from the UK. I do have another daughter but she is American citizen and is not effected really by my questions.

In December 2006 we were asked to go to Tampa to have our biometrics done (fingerprinting and other stuff).

We were quite surprised that in March 2007 we were then asked for my little 4 year old be taken to Miami for biometrics also. I didnt know minors had to do this.

Anyway - since we were travelling back to the UK on vaction - we requestd an alternative date and ended up taking her in early May 2007.

So, the status is that all three of us have now done this biometrics thing.

After reading many pots on this website I went to the USCIS website and got an online account so I could see the status online.

After creating the portfolio with all three SRC numbers - I went into each of them and this is what it said:

Quote:

Receipt Number: SRC***

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: We mailed you a notice requesting additional evidence.

On March 27, 2007, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence and/or information in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence and/or information requested. This case will be held in suspense until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the information and/or evidence requested, you will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something further from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service.

You can choose to receive automatic case status updates, which will be sent via email. Please click here to create an account online.

On mine and my wife's cases in our portfolio it just shows a "LAST UPDATED" date of 03/28/2007.

On my daughters it has a last updated date of 05/19/2007 - which is the day after she had her biometrics done.

Has anyone got any ideas on what to do here? I called up the telephone number they gave and they were quite unhelpful and basically told me they had no more information than me. They couldnt even tell me what to do next ?

Feeling a ittle lost here. Any advice would be most greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for such a great forum.

brujo,

InfoPass. Perhaps the people at your District or Sub office can find out for you what the RFE was for. Quite possibly the online status report is referring to that biometrics notice.

Also,

how do I find out where my district or sub-office is.

When My wife and I had ou biometrics done this was at a USCIS center ( I blieve just one of these contracted out centers) in Tampa.

My daughter had hers in Miami.

Is this what you are referring to? - or do you mean the Texas office that was dealing with the I-140 and I485 applications in the first place.

Sorry - I am just a littole lost with the whole ordeal.

If you go to the USCIS website, there will be a link to the InfoPass. When making an InfoPass appointment it will ask for your zip code which will decide what your local office is. If you live near Tampa, then Tampa is most likely your local office.

Thanks John / Annie,

Not really sure how to do that or what that is.

I notced on your timeline that you filed for I4845 (is that the same as AOS ????) last year too. That gives me a little hope since it is a similar timeframe for us.

Although we have been here since 2003 I only foiled for AOS last year when the I140 was approved.

Thanks again !!
