It's difficult to answer your questions when you're not giving us any real details.

How did he get to the U.S.? (a visa, did he enter illegally)
Where are his parents?
How old is he?

I suggest you have him set up an account here so we can understand what he's actually looking for.

It isn't my case so I don't know many of the details.  He has asked me for help finding a lawyer.  That's about all I know, unfortunately.  He has not shared other details with me as we are not that close. He asked me about lawyers, because I went thru the fiance visa process, but of course none of that applies to this kind of case....and my lawyer would not be able to help.

I'm just posting here asking if anyone knows a lawyer that handles juvenile cases.  I'm sure he will make a post as soon as he can, but in the meantime I was hoping to get the names of some recommended lawyers (or who to avoid) who could then get the details from him.

I'm not familiar with these kinds of cases but do you think it would matter which lawyer he chooses based on your follow up questions? (how he entered, how old he is, and where his parents are) ?   I was thinking that all those issues would be sorted out by the lawyer if he can find one. So would lawyer recommendations change depending on those circumstances?

As far as I know any competent lawyer could handle this sort of case.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
