Are you sure you didn't file early?

Date calculator shows:

12/1/2024 minus 90 days is 9/2/2024

90 days and 3 months is not the same.

I may have misspoke. I believe her GC was issued on 11/30 in actuality. In any case, the application won't let you submit early, so I think we're safe there.

This morning, I got the message

Interview Was Scheduled for November 12th!

Congrats! Best of luck hope everything goes well!!

Just popped open USCIS to check if anything it show estimate 6 months now. but I have applied under 3 year rule so i dont think anything will even happen before december because that is when my 3 years with GC will be done.

But My cousin applied (Atlanta) under 5 year rule in May ending and took oath by august first week. so I guess 5 years GC cases are surely flying!!

the approx time for me has dropped down from 7months to 4months in a week after I gave my biometric. Don't reply on that approx time, does not seem accurate or anything. But, fingers crossed, waiting for interview date to come - and counting down for that..

Hey Hey! There isn't a October 2024 filers post (that I can see). I'm getting ready to file my N-400 (finallyyyyyy!!!).

I have 2 questions, I'm currently doing quick research and catching up before sending everything, hopefully Monday.

1) We are late filers. Should I file under general conditions, or Spouse of a US citizens? I filed the form already (as A Spouse, it seemed like the logical thing), we have to mail it in as we are asking for reduced fee, but it can be redone if needed.

2) Has anyone requested the reduced fee? Do you really *just* have to send your most recent tax return? Did anyone send anything else? That's what I see online, but it seems way too light to be requesting that. I see they're not requesting us to send in the I-942 anyone. Part of us filling so late was me being a SAHM for our 2 boys, and we're trying to get things going, but it's rough haha.

Thank you! Hopefully we can get this thing going and finally be done with this saga!!

First of all, N-400 petition belongs to one person and that is immigrant wishing to naturalize. Secondly, you are not a late filer. There is no requirement to ever naturalize and no timeline. Some decide to become citizens after many years of holding LPR status, others never file N-400.

When I say "We" I quote my husband and I, as he is the one working and we discuss all decisions together. I will be the one sending everything and filing the petition for myself. When I say late filers, I mean I didn't file 3 years after our marriage. I was just wondering if I should file under spouse of a US citizen, which I did, or general provision. I've seen people say either, so I wasn't sure.

You could have not filed the form. You can only fill a form, and file the application. If form is not mailed yet, nothing is filed.

Hopefully you're a spouse of a US citizen (not multiple citizens, please be careful as using wrong words can make your N-400 interview very tough).

You can file under general provision, if you meet criteria. It's much simpler than filing as a spouse of US citizen. How long were you an LPR?

Since 8/29/2016. I would be eligible either way

You can definitely file under general provision if you held your GC before January 1, 2021

Yes, you're eligible to file under general provision. It's a much easier route. Less docs required, no need to reprove marriage.

Good luck!

I need some help. I have been living in the U.S. since November 2018, I left on January 12th 2020 to visit my parents and did not come back until January 7th 2021 due to covid. Have left only for vacation from then to now. Can someone please tell me when I can apply for Citizenship. Can I apply January next year based on the 4 years 1 day rule?
