N-400 September 2024 filers

So, my wife is eligible to file now (90 day-3 year married to USC) but we're in the Philippines until mid September when we will file.

Just playing around seeing what the online filing entails, however, I can't seem to get it started.   What is the trick?  If I click anything like, File N-400 Online Now, it takes me to her previous (now closed) cases and there's no, Start New Case or anything like that.

If I go through the Eligibility Calculator, it says go ahead and File Online but again, that just takes me to the case list.

Best I can get is an N-400 pdf but I want to file online.

Thanks

There is a 90 day residency requirement

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Yes, that's covered.

But the problem is the system won't even start the form.

Thank  you.  That's far more difficult than it should be.

Are you sure you understood @Boiler

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

that's not entirely true - you need to have bought or rented a place for at least three months (establishing residence), but you are free to travel (if you never move/change your permanent address). I assume OP is just taking a trip to the philipines.

for example, you bought a new house in January 2024 and have lived there since. You take a trip to Canada for two days and came back to this house. You do not need to wait another 90 days after you come back before you file since your residence has been established for 8 months (since January 2024)

There is no requirement to buy or rent somewhere.

Exactly correct.  You don't have to lock yourself in the basement with uncle Joe for 3 months prior to applying. Going to the store is ok as is going to the Smokeys for camping or going to grandma's for a vacation.  That doesn't mean you have to start over if you still maintain your residence. In our case, we're at grandma's.

Just visiting Grandma is unlikely to be an issue.
