Filed I-130 end of June, they received it, but I have not received a status letter.

According to USCIS it should take about 30 days to receive the status letter after they receive the I-130 petition.

 

I filed June 26, and they received it a few days later and cashed the check.

 

I cannot file an eRequest for info or status because I don't have a receipt number, which they want, in order to submit an eRequest about a non receipt of status letter (which is completely baffling.)

How would I inquire about the letter so I know the status of the case? I'd like to know if at least everything I sent was correct, and don't want it to expire in case I missed something.

The status of the case is that it is waiting in line to be dealt with.  That line is about a year long.  What you CAN do is call USCIS with the information you have and ask for another Notice of Receipt to be mailed, or just ask for the case number.  You'll need the full names and dates of birth for petitioner and beneficiary and approximate date of filing.

Post April 01, some filers got receipts after 2 months. I would not fret. Just wait.

It's not a 'status letter', only a receipt. It doesn't tell you anything other than the application has been received, and it won't tell you if everything you sent is correct, simply because they won't know yet - it won't be looked at properly for quite some time.

 

You know it's got there as the check was cashed, so all you can do is wait unfortunately.

Yes, I understand that, however, at least I would have a Receipt Number with which I would be able to at least know that things are in motion and I can check status online. I will wait another month and see what happens.

You know things are in motion though as the check has been cashed. Just checking, this is a spousal case? As previously you were asking about petitioning an adult child. 

 

When you do get your receipt number and can check your case online, whatever you do ignore the estimated time until completion! It's notoriously unreliable as you'll no doubt have seen from other threads asking about it.
