 enjoyed some of these. We have wood floors only in our apartment and in the kitchen we have tile...I swear by my Swifer Wetjet to wash the floors. It squirts out the cleaning liquid for you so you don't have to bend over ! haha I'm so lazy.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

the bubbles work they really work!! Never had a stain i couldn't lift with club soda :)

I love Lysol products. I can't wash dishes without using their kitchen desinfectant spray.

I also love to mop my floors with Pine Sol, the original scent. And spray Febreeze all over my furniture and bedspreads.

I love my Libman mop

Vinegar and water is great for windows, mirrors and floors.

I use Dow Scrubbing Bubbles to clean my sink in the bathroom and The "Works" toilet bowl cleaner. Also The "Works" for my shower.

I LOVE Spic and Span!

Flour sack towels clean mirrors and windows lint free, unlike paper towels.

I have seen those mops but do they get the stuff that sticks to the floor, like if a kid had dropped a lollipop and it seems cemented to it? I'm trying to avoid having to get on my hands and knees and scrub the old fashioned way to get that stuff up but it seems like nothing else will work. Does a real number on my back though. :crying:

Dow spun off their Consumer Products division several years ago and sold it to SC Johnson. Nice to know that people still think of it as Dow cleanser, but it's really not.

It is the only product I use to clean my bathroom, besides Windex for the mirrors.

I wouldn't live without my Swiffer refill pads (the dry ones). I use them for dusting EVERYTHING. I keep some in both cars, my horse trailer, and in my briefcase... perfect for removing lint from computer screens too.

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Well i dont have kids sorry lol But Gary is messy  If something on the floor wont lift i use my foot on the mop and scrub it back and forth, that probably sounds bad, but it works for me lol

I'm sensitive to a lot of chemicals. So we use vinegar mixed with water (different ratios depending on what you're cleaning). Vinegar REALLY cleans well. Also, love the club soda tip-THX!!

i live by these 10 rules of housekeeping.... :P

1. Vacuuming too often weakens the carpet fibers. Say this with a serious face, and shudder delicately whenever anyone mentions Carpet Fresh.

2. Dust bunnies cannot evolve into dust rhinos when disturbed. Rename the area under the couch "The Galapagos Islands" and claim an ecological exemption.

3. Layers of dirty film on windows and screens provide a helpful filter against harmful and aging rays from the sun. Call it an SPF factor of 5 and leave it alone.

4. Cobwebs artfully draped over lampshades reduces the glare from the bulb, thereby creating a romantic atmosphere. If your husband points out that the light fixtures need dusting, simply look affronted and exclaim, "What? And spoil the mood?"

5. In a pinch, you can always claim that the haphazard tower of unread magazines and newspapers next to your chair provides the valuable Feng Shui aspect of a tiger, thereby reducing your vulnerability. Roll your eyes when you say this.

6. Explain the mound of pet hair brushed up against the doorways by claiming you are collecting it there to use for stuffing handsewn play animals for underprivileged children.

7. If unexpected company is coming, pile everything unsightly into one room and close the door. As you show your guests through your tidy home, rattle the door knob vigorously, fake a growl and say, "I'd love you to see our Den, but Fluffy hates to be disturbed and the shots are SO expensive."

8. If dusting is REALLY out of control, simply place a showy urn on the coffee table and insist that "THIS is where Grandma wanted us to scatter her ashes..."

9. Don't bother repainting. Simply scribble lightly over a dirty wall with an assortment of crayons, and try to muster a glint of tears as you say, "Junior did this the week before that unspeakable accident... I haven't had the heart to clean it..."

10. Mix one-quarter cup pine-scented household cleaner with four cups of water in a spray bottle. Mist the air lightly. Leave dampened rags in conspicuous locations. Develop an exhausted look, throw yourself onto the couch, and sigh, "I clean and I clean and I still don't get anywhere..."

******************************

seriously though... I love my Swiffer Wet Jet..

I just want to get the Swiffer sweep and vac and my life will be complete :):P

ROFL OMG    best tips i've read in a long time

One of my favorite cleaning tips is putting wax paper on top of the cupboards then just changing it as required instead of having to scrub up there.

A few months ago I bought the Scrubbing Bubbles automatic shower cleaner (the one you hang over the shower and turn on a few times a week after a shower - they say each night after the last shower but I have found it isn't necessary to do it that often - anyway it really does work). Scrubbing Bubbles

I also have the Hoover Floormate - great tool for cleaning hardwood and linoleum - it's a tad heavy - but it realllly gets the floor clean. :)

PHILOSOPHY OF HOUSECLEANING!

I don't do windows because ...

I love birds and don't want one to run into a clean window and get hurt.

I don't wax floors because ...

I am terrified a guest will slip and get hurt then I'll feel terrible ( plus they may sue me.)

I don't mind the dust bunnies because ...

They are very good company, I have named most of them, and they agree with everything I say.

I don't disturb cobwebs because .

I want every creature to have a home of their own.

I don't Spring Clean because .

I love all the seasons and don't want the others to get jealous

I don't pull weeds in the garden because ..

I don't want to get in God's way, HE is an excellent designer!

I don't put things away because .

My husband will never be able to find them again.

I don't do gourmet meals when I entertain because .

I don't want my guests to stress out over what to make when they invite me over for dinner.

I don't iron because ...

I choose to believe them when they say "Permanent Press".

I don't stress much on anything because ...

"A Type" personalities die young and I want to stick around and become a wrinkled up crusty ol' woman!!!!

and remember "A clean house is a sign of a broken computer..."
