I don't think this list proves anything -- having a sizable African American population is not a

sufficient condition for crime and violence. How many African American cities didn't make the list?

There was another list where the safest US cities all had a large white demographic. Why does everyone insist on denying the facts, seriously now? People are still in denial rather than accepting reality and trying to fix it..

Again, I doubt the correlation is necessarily one-to-one. For example, New York City

used to be one of the most dangerous cities in the country, and now it's one of the safest.

Yet NYC's demographics are more or less the same today (if anything, NYC has become

less "white".)

I like living in a city with lots of immigrants - lots of good food to eat

Now that is funny because everyone I have spoken to who has ever visited the US (from Europe, Aus, HK, Japan, UK) did not like the food in LA. But hey it is an acquired taste.

Keep to your anecdotal evidence as a way to form such concrete opinions.

Why because absolutely everyone I have ever come in contact with does not like the food in CA. Maybe it is just a coincidence. It is what it is.

IE EG. While I was in London people asked where do I live. When I told them the US they asked what I think of the food there as they did not like it. I found out they stayed in CA for a while.

Why do you assume that an article that says there are 100 million non-white people in the U.S. entails that those 100 million are not assimilating, that they don't speak English (N.B. not all American citizens are white), and apparently that they're all black or Hispanic?

Show me where I specifically said that every single person of the 100,000,00 is not integrating or does not speak English.

mmm, like I asked earlier did they try all the food in California??...

how would you start?? you could learn the language, I guess and eat the food but you are never going to become Chinese...

what is an American??... isn't America made up of people from all over the world??

And which country isn't? Canada? Is a Canadian the same as an Aussie? I'll answer that; heck no. America has its subtle difference that make it America. Actually America is quite diverse when you think of the differences between the North, South, Mid-West to the East coast.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Haha. My god, if America was full of 400,000,000 Boo yahs I don't think I would have ever gotten across the Canadian border in the first place! haha

A lot of countries change and adapt to their foriegn population. Why? Because many of those people are working individuals who are putting money into the country and helping to make it better. Do I give a ###### whether a sign is in spanish or not? That is what I don't get about you, booyah. Why do you care so much about stuff that doesn't affect you?

I live in NJ and we have a ton of mexicans. Never seen a sign in spanish before. I could just see you driving towards a stop sign that happens to be written in Spanish and cursing at it.

You would TRY to become chinese? But you aren't! lol. You will always still be be australian. If a chinese immigrant comes to America, they will ALWAYS be chinese because that is their ethnicity, not just their nationality. They have heritage and traditions.

And ps- In a lot of your comments it is always "well all the people I talked to about "x-y" said this..." You seem to invest a lot in what people you have talked to have said and then try to pass it off like it is fact. Where do you live in the US? I would really like to know.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

It does not matter what they tried. Their opinion is their opinion.

I'm sure they specified ethnic food, which we are talking about here. The fact is I have about 20 different cuisines within walking distance of my house. It's great!

Perhaps they didn't go to the right places? I mean - its not like UK restaurants are all that diverse. Our choice of restaurants is pretty bland IMO - mostly curry houses and chinese takeaways. Still I lived in CA for two years - and the restaurants there were among the best I've ever been to. Its a shrewd guess that a person who spends several years in a place has a better idea of the quality of the food than a fly by night tourist.

First page. You said you wouldn't want to live in one of the shaded areas. What should be inferred from this? You also implied that those areas were ghettos.

No I implied I do not want to live in those areas. Are we not allowed to pick or chose where we live?

Now booyah don't take this the wrong way please...but here is an excerpt from wikipedias description of Great Falls, VA.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 8,549 people, 2,785 households, and 2,464 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 184.7/km² (478.5/mi²). There were 2,852 housing units at an average density of 61.6/km² (159.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 92.83% White, 1.20% African American, 0.14% Native American, 4.40% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.43% from other races, and 1.95% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.56% of the population.

You live in town of 8,500 people where the population is 93% white? Maybe you should come and live down here in the hood. I can show you around Camden, Newark, Elizabeth, Irvington, etc. if you want. Maybe that will show you actual poverty and why crime is so high.

It all comes back to who you talk to. What is good for one person may be extremely bad, or greasy, for somebody else..

Yes but what you are saying is that it seems to be bad for every one you happen to talk to, implying it's all terrible.
