So the 100,000,000 are a minority and should get special treatment. Vice Versa do the Caucasians get special treatment in those counties?

That's taking things on a bit of a wild tangent from what was actually said...

I know SteveLaura was referring to the numbers and their actual meaning. In the US anyone classified a minority gets a whole bag of goodies. So I was wondering, in general, will the Caucasian minorities also now get these free benefits in those counties.

Separate issue really. You can't bring welfare into a discussion about population density and the geographical distribution of ethnic groups.

Perhaps it would help if you actually made whatever point you seem to be drawing from this.

I am not making any point but rather presenting the facts.

What facts? That there are differences in the distribution and population density of different ethnic demographics? Old news - the only 'news' here is that those populations have gotten larger.

Then you bring welfare into it - welfare has nothing to do with the article. So again you seem to be skirting some sort of point - but again you haven't actually made one.

They are interrelated. The only difference is that I want to discuss issues that some people pretend do not exist. Like the current inequality in welfare payments; depending on one's race.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Based on assumptions - nothing to do with the OP article.

I think his point is pretty apparent. Minorities are like a disease. They are spreading rapidly and pretty soon, nearly the whole country will be infected.

Well I think he's suggesting that this increase in those populations is all to do with illegal immigration - yet the article actually suggests that it also has a lot to do with Hurricane Katrina - displacing hundreds of thousands of people.

I'm going to tune in another 17 pages, and here's my predictions. It will be 16 pages of Boo-Yah dancing around his point, which is that there are too many minorities, they're getting special treatment, and they're curiously lazy because of their 'culture', and 16 pages of other people attempting to reason with him.

100 million minorities includes anyone who isn't of Caucasian ancestry. (That means it includes your model Asians, Boo-Yah.) It says nothing about assimilation or the person being on welfare. It says nothing about the distribution or relative racism in society. And I'm not sure where we get the idea that people get more welfare if they're black, but if you actually check the poverty guidelines for your state, there isn't a 'Whites' and 'Browns' line.

Are you talking about the minorities who refuse to learn the English language??

Refuse? How do you know?

Funny you should say that because a college admittance officer specifically stated that if I was a black single mother, with a child, I would qualify for a number of financial aid schemes.

Nationally, the number of minorities who refuse to learn the English language topped 100 million for the first time in 2006 — about a third of the population. By 2050, minorities who refuse to learn the English language will account for half of U.S. residents, according to Census Bureau projections.

Maybe you saw something in there that I didn't?
