Your question: If that happens..."IF" being very important because I have really yet to see it...it is absolutely related to poverty. The areas they are terrorizing, since gangs work on terms of "turf ownership" (ie. this is our turf, that is yours...), are poverty stricken and they are in gangs in the first place because they are on the lower end of the economic scale. Do you know how many of these big cars are also leased or have significant loans behind them? If you seriously and honestly think that you can go down to the hood in a bad jersey or CA city and think a guy has 55 k to put down on an expensive care, then I'm not too sure what else to say to you.

Just like the American mob, which was made up of mostly white people. Crime can make you rich. But it doesn't mean that every white person was rich because some mob families were. The same applies, most minorities are dis proportionally poor. Some through crime or whatever, get out of being poor. That doesn't mean that everyone stopped being poor.

You have a skewed view of reality. And you keep trying to argue that your view is the way it is. Even in the face of the facts. Just believing something doesn't make it true. Look at how many people find the face of Jesus or Mary in everything from bridges to grilled cheese sandwiches. It doesn't mean its really there, but their belief makes them able to see it.

Assuming you're asking for a link between poverty and crime, in the U.S., this is pretty well established. Broken home, kid can't get an education, has no way out, turns to gangs or drugs or prostitution, gets caught, becomes a felon, can't raise the next generation, &c. If your hypothetical gangbanger is driving a Lexus he got it through drug money.

If you have university access you can start reading some of the articles here. It's a pretty well-respected correlation.
