Nationally, the number of minorities topped 100 million for the first time in 2006 — about a third of the population. By 2050, minorities will account for half of U.S. residents, according to Census Bureau projections.

“I don’t think Latinos or any other so-called minority group are seeking to make white people a minority,” Jacinto said. “It’s just a reality.”

Anyone else see what is wrong with the above statement..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Now I know which areas not to live in.

Why would that be then?

I am just not interesting in living with people who have no intent of assimilating into a country. Or people who number in the millions yet claim to be a minority..

What's the bet those areas will have the highest crime rates as well as highest unemployment rates. Then a few years down the track it will be somebody else's mans fault for this. ;)

Most areas minorities are in look like that away.. :D

Um, 100 million out of 300 million is a minority. Like in your subject heading - Whites are a minority in 10% of US counties...

So the 100,000,000 are a minority and should get special treatment. Vice Versa do the Caucasians get special treatment in those counties?

Hmmm - inner city areas... high unemployment... high crime. Nothing at all to do with poverty - or indeed an urban/rural divide.

I bet all of those counties have the highest crime rates. Counties not city areas might I add..

I'd be surprised if most, if not all of those counties were not densely populated areas.

Perhaps it would help if you actually made whatever point you seem to be drawing from this.

That's taking things on a bit of a wild tangent from what was actually said...

I know SteveLaura was referring to the numbers and their actual meaning. In the US anyone classified a minority gets a whole bag of goodies. So I was wondering, in general, will the Caucasian minorities also now get these free benefits in those counties.

I'd be interested to read that too. Haven't had a locked thread for a while, it seems...

Ne'er mind.

I am not making any point but rather presenting the facts.
