Any news from anyone in our batch?

Getting nervous about RFEs I'm seeing around the forums and thinking about uploading some unsolicited evidence to the myUSCIS portal. We don't have a ton but at least some images from our wedding celebration, shared insurance policies, MFJ tax transcript for this year, etc, would be something. All I submitted with our initial application was the marriage certificate. I don't know how reliably they take into account the unsolicited evidence but it probably wouldn't hurt?

Received the letter that my interview w son is on 1 Apr.

Anyone else received this notice?

Status was changed from final decision stage to interview scheduled.

There's a list of things to prepare, I did my medical checkup in Singapore I don't thing I will prepare for another one.

'Certified marriage certificate' requested but I have the original?

Will try to gather more paperwork requested but I'm not on the owned property or banks or bills( I have no SSN) and he's pays for everything for me and my son.

My husband relies on what I request as he doesn't like paperwork.

Congratulations! I'm still stuck in "USCIS is actively reviewing your case" but I realized I'm almost definitely getting an RFE from a mistake I made so I'm just twiddling my thumbs until that comes, lol.

If you're not on any financial accounts, I'd try to gather up as much evidence of your relationship (pictures, itineraries from trips you've taken together since moving to the US, etc) and evidence of shared residence (have you gotten any mail? Phone plan in your name?). If he has put you on his health insurance or life insurance, that is good evidence, too. And once you have an SSN, definitely work on getting your name on some bills, opening a joint bank account, and getting on shared credit cards, as you'll continue to need evidence of comingling in the ROC stage!

Thanks so much! Totally agree on your points! I m not on any bills or banks as he paid for everything and I requested for SSN on the i485 form. I plan to arrange for more evidence linking to him helping to pay for my child(health insurance etc) and being the second emergency contact.

By any chance do you know if they ask for 'certified true copy' of marriage certificate, does the original work? Or do I have to reprint another one for them to retain?

Your timeline is so similar to mine! Hope u get an email from them on an interview soon.

Hv a nice weekend!

I'm not sure! I would probably take both a certified copy that you get from the court, and a copy, and just ask them there which one they want. Since it's fairly easy to get additional certified copies from courts, at least where I am! 😄

Hello. We just approved today with no interview. I think we would have gotten approved earlier because we got a lot of RFEs about our medical starting at the end of December. Short story is they wanted us to submit a medical and I went back and forth with them because we didn't need to. I for sure was thinking we were going to be punished with an interview later. LOL

Our case was in Montgomery Alabama.

hi there!  We filed for AOS in August, too. Our USCIS page says that the waiting time will be about 12 months. We had our biometrics and I received my SSN card and work permission in November. Now we are thinking about filing the I-765 for my 17 y.o. daughter so she can finally use the SSN and maybe work, as the Green Card might take ages to arrive.

It's a bit confusing - we arrived with a K1 and now I don't even know if I can file the I-765 under a c9 category (K2 for my teen), and it's not clear if we can do this online or on paper and where to submit the supporting documents.

Good luck everyone! (PS So far I spent over 2k in medical expenses that would have been free in the UK LOL)

Didn't need the marriage certificate as copies were sent during the application of i485. Officer didn't ask for any other proof as he could tell that we were genuine. He asked questions like that was the last place we ate out and last movie watched. Both we forgotten.

I think your green card appointment or receipt will come very soon. I noticed those with a i765, either they have auto approvals or interview much faster than those who didn't apply for i765. I didn't apply as I wanted the green card and apply to jobs. I applied in Aug, my son in Sep, we had our interview 1 Apr and approval 2 Apr. Green card came in the mail the following week. The k2 teen, are u referring to your teen that traveled w you on k1?

Yes that’s my daughter. We are planning to fill the permission to work form today. It sucks to pay $260 for it but the SSN is necessary and I don’t see why we should wait until the green card arrives. But if you got it so quickly I am now in doubt.

the case in the Uscis page says we have passed the interview stage and they are since September at decision stage, due in 12 months -presumably 12 from filing for AOS.

However I do not understand the processing times statistics well enough to determine if we are due soon or not.

in which case if we are due in two or three months there is no point in filing for her to have SSN.

she attended college and if she has had SSN, she would have qualified to receive $400 a month as an incentive.

Had I known this from the beginning I would have filed for both immediately 🤪
