Mothers who Travelled to US with Child

hi mothers...

im curious about the "real score" with the infant formula/feeding bottles in airports..

I have a 2-yr old daughter that includes in the visa application. She will be travelling with me as soon as we have our visa.

She's still active with her milk... any of you who travel to US with a kid? what did you do with his/her milk?

When I came in here in the US, I had my 4 year old daughter with me but she is not as active with formula as your 2 year old bundle of joy.. I guess it would help if you could have the formula ready in her bottle and just pour some water on it when she is ready to have it. You could always ask water from the flight attendants and I have seen kids in my flight, had their milk and diaper bag with them with no problem in immigration...

I brought my son home to Manila for the first time when he was 11 months old, just this May. I had at least 4-6 pints of milk which they had allow me to hand carry (inside the baby's bag), of course they were all sealed in ziploc freezer bags. You can ask the flight attendants to keep them in the refrigerator. Make sure to bring cookies and cereals for the baby too. You need those so the baby has something to nibble on.

since the liquid ban they dont allow as much water to bring in the plane even for formula but they have lifted the ban recently and made exceptions like babies are allowed to bring as much water they needed for the formula milk. Before, you have to make advance request from the airline for water for formula... I have a baby boy coming w/ me too, just gonna bring him his bag full of cookies, cereals and food...

i cant seem to do the "edit" thing, to add:

and his milk too (maybe 200g box of his formula milk) + bottles and 1.5 L of his water.... dont forget toys too so she'll be occupied.. another tip.. have ur baby eat during take offs and landing so her ears wont hurt.. i mean eat as in have milk, sucking helps w/ getting ear pressure and ear pops.

When we flew couple months ago, I carried 7 bottles with 12 ounces of water each and milk dispenser but at the inspection I was asked to empty the bottles and said I can always ask the stewardess for some water when we need it, so thats what we did and it was a smooth ride with no problems, flying on a direct flight helped us a lot too, my son was asleep the entire time
