Okay, so we assume that we just submit 485, 693, and 684? Send all of those files at once? Is that correct?

What is VJ?

Visa Journey.  Please read the guides!  Don't assume, that's how mistakes are made, and delays caused.   Please own your process and do the research.

I693 and another medical is likely not required for K1s either if you 1. COMPLETED your medical abroad AND 2. are filing I485 within one year of the date of that medical AND 3. your DS 3025 is MARKED complete AND IS complete.

Read through the I693 Instructions before spending money on another medical.

Too late and even the civil surgeon didn't tell us that we did not need to do that again.

I did my research that I supposed to be no need for a medical exam, but somehow she said that I need to do it :')

She gets paid for doing them.

You can mark the box on your I-485.

Note:  The Visa Journey best practice is for a K-1 entrant to apply before marriage.

You still need to go into the SSA office ASAP to apply but you can also check the box on both I-485 and I-765, it won’t hurt.

Go to the Social Security Administration (SSA) and apply for an SSN as soon as you can.  It will make things easier for you such as opening or being added to `bank accounts, getting a driver's license, etc.  The SSA will most likely only issue the SSN in the name on your passport even though you are married, don't worry about that, just get the number, you can straighten out any name changes with the SSA after you get your green card (GC).

Also, when filling out the I485, fill it out in the name you want on the GC.

Good Luck!

Civil Surgeon's are not employed by DHS. They are a private practice who apply through the CDC to be eligble to complete immigration medicals for profit.

They have no reason to tell you anything. Most are just here to take our money. It's up to you to determine your necessity to have a medical completed.

For others reading this thread silently, please ensure you understand your requirements as a K1 by reading above and how to know (through reading through your DS3025 for completeness) if you need one or not.

Oww, I wonder... How much must we pay for the AoS form, travel permit form, and working permit form (Combo Card)? Do we only pay $1440 on the G-1450 form? Or do we need to put in a total of each cost form?

From my experience, I just got added to my husband's bank account, and the banker just needs my passport, K1 visa number, and marriage certificate. I can use my husband's last name too on that account. Maybe after I receive the SSN from filling AoS form, we will update my SSN to the bank again.

The total is fine.

If you can avoid paying with credit card and pay with the personal check instead - that's much better to ensure credit card transaction won't get denied.
