Hi everyone,

I’ll be submitting my I-751 soon. May I ask for your advice on whether our I-751 packet is complete/sufficient? I’m worried that we might have missed something. Here is the list of the documents we have in our packet:

  1. Forms
    1. Form G-1450, Authorization for Credit Card Transactions
    2. Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence
    3. Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance
  2. Initial Evidence
    1. IDs
      1. My permanent resident card
      2. My origin country passport
      3. My spouse’s US passport
      4. Our marriage certificate
    2. Proof of cohabitation
      1. Current and past lease/rental agreements
      2. Shared utilities
    3. Tax Returns Filed Jointly
    4. Health Insurance
    5. International Travel Documents
      1.  Airline Tickets
      2. Hotel Reservations
    6. Photos and Social Media Posts

Thank you for your time and advice!

I highly recommend paying with personal check to avoid credit card transaction getting declined and causing all sorts of delays. If you read VJ, you'll see people report issue paying with CC because bank flags transaction as fradulent.

Thank you so much for this tip! Will opt for a personal check then.

This is a good start. Other than filing taxes together, how else do you comingle your finances? Do you have joint savings / checking accounts?

Thank you for your feedback! We haven't opened a joint bank account yet. Would money transfers (e.g. via Zelle and Venmo) count? Again, appreciate your thoughts!

If we'll pay via personal check, would you know if we still need to include Form G-1450 (Authorization for Credit Card Transactions) in the packet? And do we just clip the check as the first item in our packet?

Thank you!

If you pay by personal check, cashiers check or money order, you don't need G-1450. This is only needed for credit card payments.

I do not have experience using Zelle / Venmo for evidence.

Maybe others can comment whether this is a good idea or not. It may work both ways in my opinion. If you have public transactions on Venmo, by submitting account information you're potentially inviting USCIS to scrutinize your transactions with other people.

Looks like you have everything.  My wife is from the Philippines and as I've read,  the US Gov practically issues visas from Philippines like candy.  On my wife's final interview in the US, She actually asked more questions of the interviewer than he asked of her!   It takes time but in the end it's all good.  She is now a US Citizen for the past 18 months.

Thanks for the feedback! So happy for your wife! Hoping to gain my citizenship soon too!

I don’t know if this applies to you but when I did mine 10 years ago, we had a son so I included a copy of birth certificate and a copy of our car registration which was in both our names. Good luck to you.
