I wish someone help me.

My fiancé can't complete the medical test due to ongoing tuberculosis treatment. She starts the treatment on April 2024 and her doctor said need 9-12 month to treat it. The petition will be valid 4 months till October 3, 2024. She already informs USA consular in her country and they said we may email them again one month prior to expired date of petition. Is there anyone in this forum has the same case with me, I just want to know how long could I get the extension.

Hello, I have first hand knowledge about this.  My fiance tested positive for TB the first time he went to the medical test in Premier Bintaro.  At that time they told him that the treatment was six months IF he did the treatment at their Hospital in Jakarta.  Unfortunately, he lived in Bengkulu, Sumatra and was not able to stay for six months in Jakarta.  He did the treatment in Bengkulu at a hospital there for six months and when he finished treatment and contacted Premier Bintaro that the treatment was finished, they told him that he needed to wait a year before he could have the medical test once again at their hospital for the US Embassy interview.  We just wrote an email to the US Embassy in Jakarta and made them aware of this issue.  A year later, he schedule his medical once again with Premier Bintaro and went to Jakarta for the test.  During the test they told him that he needed to have the sputum test again and wait 3 months for the results.  He once again paid for the medical AND the sputum test and three month later they told him he passed the test and that they will be sending the results to the US Embassy.  He then went online and scheduled his interview with the US Embassy and was approved for his K1 Visa.  I want to let you know that unfortunately, after he came to the US and we got married, while waiting to adjust status, he had to return to Indonesia and we had to then apply for a CR1, marriage visa, and when he went to Premier Bintaro again for his medical, yet again they told him he had to take the sputum test and wait 3 months for the results.  This whole thing was very expensive as every time he went to Premier Bintaro the medical test was more expensive than the last as well as the sputum test and also the added expense of flying from Bengkulu to Jakarta.  Just in the medical test, travels to Jakarta and sputum test etc we spent over $3,000.00 dollars.  Quite the experience.  I hope your fiance/spouse lives in Jakarta as it will be much faster to get the treatment done at Premier Bintaro.  Good luck.

Oh I also wanted to mention that we sent an email to the US Embassy in Jakarta every time there was a change of status on what was going on.  So we sent an email when he was told about the treatment for six months, then we sent an email when Premier Bintaro said that he cannot have the Medical for another year after finishing the TB treatment at a different hospital in Bengkulu, then another email when he did have the Medical and was told that he needed the sputum test that takes 3 months for the results.  Though the US Embassy is not one to answer you as such, we felt comfortable to keep them in the loop.  Once he did get his interview and his visa to enter the US, he only had 30 days to get out of Indonesia and enter the US, which was not a problem.

Why your fiance can't do medical test after finished the treatment, why should wait till one year ? are they telling you the reason. My fiance is living in Jakarta, she got TB spinal two months before she received email from US embassy in Jakarta. The email contains about for her to complete the documents inclusive medical examination. She contacted Premier Bintaro hospital and explain about her health condition. They said she can do the medical examination after finished her treatment. Right now, she still doing the treatment in one of the hospitals in Jakarta going for four months and it might be finish next april 2025. Her lungs is fine, she's even did the sputum test and the result was fine. I wish she could do medical examination right after she finished her treatment.

The reason Premier Bintaro gave for having to wait one year after the treatment was done, was because the treatment was not done at their hospital in Jakarta.  Fortunately that is now all behind us as he is now in the US with a 10 year green card.
