Condional GC expiring soon-ish

So I am planning on traveling abroad in November/December but by then my condition green card is going to expire in 4/3 months (March). It is ok to travel internationally like that? 

 

Its it worth applying to get a Global Entry or that's going to be certainly denied?

Check and see if your conditional green card expiration has been extended.  If so, you need the letter that extends it.  If you have the extension letter and your green card you're good both ways.

 

One of your concerns will be the airlines.  They sometimes get hung up on six months..."you have to have at least six months left on your passport", etc.  Your travel may be legal with respect to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, but people at the airlines tend to be risk-averse and may not understand.  Even worse, the airline people in the U.S. might understand but their employees or contractors at the foreign airport might not.  (Don't take it personally.  If they let you travel and you're not legal for entry they get penalized.)

 

My mother in law has a 10-year green card.  She's been here less than a year now.  Her Global Entry application is still "Pending Review" after two months.  I believe this is still within normal processing time.  I have no reason to believe she will be rejected.  You might not get a Global Entry card before November even if you start now.  And the GE application specifically asks for the expiration of your green card, so you might have to wait until it's renewed.  (The TTP people *should* understand how an extension letter works.  That doesn't mean they will.)

You can travel with only a Green Card if it has not expired by the time you return.  If it will expire during your time outside the US, you will need both the expired Green Card and the 48 month extension letter you will receive when submitting an I-751.

You can travel on any Green Card, alone,  up to the day of its expiration.

If that happens, how do I solve that problem? Is there a chance I won't be able to travel back to the U.S because of the airline or is it an easy fix? 
Sorry I'm really anxious abt this trip but I really wanna visit my family.

If you have an unexpired Green card, I don't think you will have an issue.

My wife traveled with a GC about to expire (still valid when she departed) and she had no issues.  We filed the I751 in the proper filing window, and while she was away her GC expired, but she had her valid extension letter.  I have never heard of an airline clerk doing anything related to six months validity, but when my wife was traveling with her extension letter, she did have an airline employee ask to keep it, luckily she had a copy to give her.

 

You should have no issues traveling (and re-entering the US) on a valid GC regardless of how long before it expires.  The CBP carrier guide does not mention anything related to a six month period, so take a copy of that with you.

It's always worth applying for Global Entry, expiring conditional GC would not be a cause for denial. Irrespective of your GC expiry chances are your application won't get processed before your trip anyway. It's a bit hit-or-miss how well GE works while you're on expired conditional GC with extension letter - I was able to update my NEXUS registration using the extension letter and used it without issue at land borders, but others have run into issues.

That is crazy. All of my family members including myself got conditional approval for GE in 2 days time. My mother who became an LPR on 7/13 applied and got hers the same day.

I have never heard of a conditional green card being extended without an ROC in process.  Is this new?
