Green Card haven't received yet.

Hello, 

 

I am a US citizen and I have paid USCIS Immigration fee for green card for my parents on 04/23/2024 and I haven't received green card yet. When I try to track the process it keep showing me this....
Can anyone please guide me what should I do?

Use the IOE receipt number to track the  progress. Can take 6 weeks to 9 months 😵‍💫

You can chase it up as it's been more than 90 days if you want. https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayNDCForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=ndc 

 

Their visas in their passports act as a temporary GC for a year anyway.

I have a dumb question, but I'll go ahead and ask it anyway. 

 

To get a green card, you have to have paid the fee *and* your beneficiary has to have entered the United States.

 

Have they entered the U.S. yet?

I think that's actually a really good question! Hadn't thought of that, I just assumed they were already there.

They call it the USCIS Immigration fee. No, they do not have to. You can pay for this after they get their visa.

The new immigrants MUST be inside the US (and fee paid) before the plastic Green Cards will be produced.

@bnayak Until they’re in the US, a green card won’t be produced regardless of whether you’ve paid the fee or not.

You were misinformed. 

 

Anyway, whatbfee did you pay? Did you pay $220 for each parent? Because if you didn't pay a $220 fee, then you didn't pay the GC delivery fee.

Called USCIS  immigration fee and it was $235. I paid before a week my parents entered the USA.

once u paid the fee for each person (advisable to pay before they entered and not after), and that person has entered USA, it might take few months. few months can be 3-9 months. why? because USCIS can do anytime they want without any exact timeline

in order for immigrants to get green card, they need to land on US oil. if they have not, they wont get their green cards until they complete landing . you cant just pre pay and expect for the card to arrive without them physically landing in US soil

Back in 2021-2022 the GC took about 4 months (after US entry) to arrive for us, sounds like these days it could take even longer. The package(s) should be sent with tracking and if the address you listed is enrolled in Informed Delivery then you can get a notification there with the tracking number.

The OP paid after the fee increase it seems, so it should have been $235 each.
