Hello! My husband (American) and I are applying for the CR-1 visa and I am moving to Latin America to live closer to the United States. I am planning to stay in Bogota, Colombia as a digital nomad for now and I aim to specify Bogota as my current address.

My question is: can I get an appointment at the US embassy in Bogota for the interview as a nonresident and what are the waiting times there?? Your answers will be much appreciated!

2 years.

Where are you coming from? Which country?

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Was your waiting time 2 years?

No. It's on the embassy website. Bogota serves both Colombia and Venezuela, hence the backlog.
