does it look bad if female petitioner help her beneficiary husband financially and share wire transfer receipts for bonafide marriage

It can, yes, depending on the consulate involved and the age difference.

I agree it depends

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Sometimes it depends on the consulate you file your case , but most probably l can say no , because one of my cousin have been through before and things did go well. Be specific gather all the proof of the marriage,  example: pics, any joint bank account, exchange of any letter or gift card, Flight ticket for any your to and from etc.

Good luck boss 👍

I have other evidence too but there are some wire transfer receipts i wanted to share as evidence and which I received when beneficiary had a job I was scared after reading all the comments. Did your cousin also submitted wire transfer receipts as evidence and was your cousin the petitioner?

You don't have to be scared boss, if you know your marriage is genuine,  go for it and I strongly believe you will be fine.

Good luck 👍

I have the same question to be honest, been married for 3 years, I am the USA citizen wife, and me and my husband share finances, but it’s hard to prove it when you live in 2 different countries. He has a debt card to my checking account that he uses to take money out when needed for bills, rent, I tried to get my self on his account in his country and I can’t because I am don’t have residency their, and he can’t be added here on the account other then a POD , I have sent money using western union to him for rent when he lost the debt card one time before I could send him the new card. We are just waiting for the scheduling of our IR1 visa interview. I am just at a loss what to provide as finance proof, I can show all the debit card transactions but I also use the card when I am there every other month. Please don’t go after me for being the main provider, it’s normal for the country he is in to not have much income or if he does work the company’s lie and don’t pay.

Interesting to read the comments, it matters if it is a female sending to a male?  My experience with a 40 year difference between me and my Indonesian husband, who I sent thousands of dollars in the journey from 2017 until 2023, ( K1 visa approved but had to return to Indonesia and then apply for the CR1,) I never provided any copies of the financial assistance I provided in either of the visa petitions and were never asked for them either.  Good luck!

Fair or not, some consulates will look at cultural norms in the country.  In some countries it would be almost unheard of for a young man to marry a significantly older woman if there is a really big age gap between them.  But younger women marrying significantly older men might be somewhat common and not at all unusual.  Certain consulates may suspect that a young man marrying a significantly older woman is so unusual in that country that they must be doing it for personal gain such as just to get a green card or just to get money rather than marrying for love and companionship.  If it were a situation like that, then proof of sending money might only serve to reinforce the consulates preconception.

In the case of the original post, I think a two-year age gap is probably no big deal but in general proof of sending money is weak evidence at best and could potentially be seen as derogatory at worst.  Probably best to focus on other types of evidence.

I am the petitioner (wife) and my husband is Honduran.  I have a good teaching job here (In Honduras) making US dollars and my husband makes Lempiras at his government job.  I have been transferring money to his account for some classes he is taking, and uploading the transfers as evidence.  He gives me money for various different things but usually gives it to me in cash.  We have 2 separate bank accounts because direct deposits work differently here with employers.  Yes, I am the main bread winner of the the relationship, it is what it is.  Because we don't have joint accounts I uploaded a Will I wrote for the state of Florida and both of our names are on the apartment lease, here in Honduras. I think you will be fine.  My marriage is valid, so I am not too worried about it.  Upload the transfer documents, added with other pieces of evidence and I believe you will be fine. We have a 4 year age difference.

I agree with others who advise not to share it: One IO might think very little of it or understand the circumstances, and another might say the marriage was bought or manipulated or the petitioner is being used, et cetera. There's no way to predict the temperament or moral quandaries of whatever IO conducts the interview. I would not chance that.

It didn’t affect a previous situation, but I wouldn’t recommend including that. All you need to send are travel itineraries, lodging, meals, events or activities, transportation, and jewelry (wedding rings). I took photos of our hands wearing them and attached it to the reciept. Also, the passport pages with the entry/exit stamps.
