My fiancé and I are in the process of apply for a K-1 visa. We were informed that USCIS wants more evidence of proof of

relationship. I have chat logs but they want letters from family members stating they know about of relationship and wanting to

get married. Does anyone here know a site where I can get examples of these types of letters so I have an idea how to get

them done correctly? Thank you.

I never heard of them wanting letters from friends and family members.. maybe you did not supply enough of evidence when you sent your I-129F

Did you send your airline receipts.. and pictures..?

We sent all that and everything we had from my trip there. However we did not submit any chat logs and USCIS seems

to be doubting we have a relationship over time. And I guess our letters of intent to marry did not contain enough

information about us meeting. I am just trying to find examples of statements from family and friends that I use as a guide

to do our own.

USCIS actually asked for affidavit?

i

Foreign affidavit are useless as they can not be legally enforced  from another country

An affidavit is a sworn statement put in writing. When you use an affidavit, you're claiming that the information within the document is true and correct to the best of your knowledge. Like taking an oath in court, an affidavit is only valid when you make it voluntarily and without any coercion.

and how do Americans know about relationship?  they met your fiancee?  See u together?

the best proof is time spent together so how many trips?  how long were together in real life?

do u have chats from 1st meeting and recent one(s) to show beginning of relationship that has continued

1 trip on vacation for 10 days or 2 weeks is not enough for some (depending on what country u will interview in)

if u want affidavits from family/friends there are many templates online / look up your state say in google "sample of (the state)  affidavit.  making affidavit is easy

Here's a copy of the letter that my fiancee's sister wrote for us and we had no issues with our proof of relationship on our I-129F. (Names and addresses have been changed to protect the innocent) 😁

That is very unusual, normally for K-1s they leave the relationship vetting to the consulates.  Are there big red flags in your situation?

How many times have you met and for how long.

I seriously doubt they want anything from family members.

Use of a template letter isn't the wisest action.

If all letters look much the same, all of them will be called into question.

Better to supply family with details (when you met, etc.) and let them put things into their own words.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Just to make sure we fully understand the situation, are you saying that you received an RFE (Request for Evidence) from USCIS, and specifically what they asked for was letters (affidavits) from family?

If you received an RFE letter, can you post it here, with sensitive information removed/redacted?

Can you also list out everything you provided in the initial application?
