I was chatting with EMMA earlier to see if an update is available. I typically get a no interview scheduled/case is with the NBC response but today the agent said you are waiting for the field office to set an interview date.

I'm hoping this is a good sign.

Wish you good luck! I have same status and emma says case is with NBC last time i checked a week ago.

What was your submission date and was it 3 yr rule or 5 yr ?

Thank you!

I applied mid August, based on 3 yr rule with a pending I-751.

I finally got my interview scheduled!

Brooklyn, NY - 5-year rule, no RFEs
Aug 17, 2024: NOA + Biometrics reuse
Dec 19, 2024: Interview Scheduled for Jan 28.

Today I had my interview in Brooklyn, NY. The officer was very friendly and kind. After the civics, reading, and writing tests, we mostly talked about my work history, addresses, and trips outside the U.S.

In the end, he handed me the paper recommending my approval and told me I would get an oath date shortly.

When I left the interview, I already had the status update I was placed in line for the oath scheduling.

Based on my experience, my takeaway is that if you practice civics and everything in your application is true, there’s nothing to worry about. He even asked me something that I apologized for not remembering exactly, and he was very understanding.

Here are the six questions asked:

  1. What is the name of the Speaker of the House now?
  2. What is one responsibility that is only for US citizens?
  3. Who vetoes bills?
  4. Why does the flag have 50 stars?
  5. What does the President’s cabinet do?
  6. We elect a US Senator for how many years?

Congrats!!!

Be patient with the oath ceremony scheduling. That is one state that only does judicial ceremonies.

Wow - my husband's estimated time remaining for the N-400 was steadily going down each week recently: 1 month, 3 weeks, 2 weeks, 1 week, and then it said no estimate available last week.  But today it now says 5 months.

The regular processing time page says 80% of cases processed in 6 months for San Francisco.  He's right at that mark.

I understand the estimate is pretty variable and not very meaningful but it's strange it was tracking linearly and then this. Of course there is a new administration but I wouldn't have thought that would affect this so quickly.

I can tell from that one guy's case tracking site that almost every case from the time period my husband applied has been completed.  Of course we expect longer with it being combined with removal of conditions.

What is everyone else seeing in their estimates these days?
