I also just had my N-400 interview last week no combo interview. The IO went through my marriage evidence and said that he approved that it's a bonafide marriage. I passed civics and English. He handed me the document saying I passed my tests but a decision cannot be made yet. He said someone else has my i751 and it would be done by the end of the day. But Nothing changed on my account status. Still say application received for i751 and interview scheduled for N400

Can someone help with my question.

my husband turns US citizen recently and child came a few years and overstayed her visa going to school. She is 12 years old. Can she acquire citizenship automatically or what is the next step he has to do.

She has to be on green card to become a citizen when her parent becomes a citizen

FYI I found in another thread from a while back, someone in same position as us who submitted an inquiry for a lost approval notice on their case and next day got approved. Maybe coincidence as doesn’t seem to work in all cases but I did the same today and will see what happens. You can do it from USCIS website

Just want to report back that this worked for us.

Seattle Field Office - we were waiting for almost 2 months after our N-400 interview. (No pending I-751) After filing for the missing approval notice, we got a generic reply on the same day as the request. Then, we got an approval on the next day.

That’s good to know! I raised a case almost two weeks ago and haven’t received a response yet. I will remain optimistic!

I also reached out to my Congresswoman to see if she could get an update on why it’s taking so long!

The different story line for different people. I think I have been the most patient applicant here. I got divorced January 2016 from my wife a US citizen. Filed a waiver tru my attorney for removal of condition. Since 2017 till date my I751 is not approved. My attorney went ahead I filed N400 for me. I was called up for Citizenship interview on Dec 6, 2022. passed the interview but was given a paper which states that I751 is still pending(a decision cannot yet be made about your application). December 2024 will make it one year I went for this interview, still no news. I have written severally to USCIS, likewise my Senator , and all they keep saying is:

"As a part of a greater eligibility determination, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) conducts background and security checks on applicants and certain petitioners for immigration benefits. These checks are necessary to ensure United States national security and public safety interests. In some cases, the results of these checks require USCIS to perform additional inquiries or consult with other government agencies. When this is necessary, there is often some delay in resolving the checks, and it is difficult to predict when resolution will be completed. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely and efficient manner while also ensuring public safety, national security, and compliance with all relevant directives. While the processing steps for most applications or petitions are completed quickly, a small percentage of cases involve unresolved issues that may result in adjudication delays. Please be assured that this case has not been overlooked. Once all checks are resolved, the Application will be adjudicated, and your constituent will be notified of the decision"

Just wanted to share my case here as an insight. Any suggestion on whats next is appreciated.

Patrick.
