Purchase one-way flight for fiancee with K1 visa

Should I wait to purchase a flight for my fiancee until she receives her US passport with visa? I suspect that if not, her personal information will look different from her current Philippines passport. Please advise, anyone.

It is recommended to wait until visa is in hand and has been checked for accuracy.  Good luck.

like others have said dont purchase a ticket until she has her passport in hand and everything is correct.

 

but the K-1 visa goes into her Philippines passport. she would have given it to the officer at the embassy at the time of her interview.

 

she wont be receiving a US passport at this stage as she is not a US citizen

Uh, you seem confused.   She is in no way eligible for a U.S. passport.   A K1 visa will be put into her current passport.

Lol, yes am confused. And I should have stated my question differently on this venue. I didn't mean US passport, only K1 Visa. I went to my travel agent. Began to purchase the one-way flight. I gave the agent her Philippines passport info. I had the flight picked out with her info entered into his system for the ticket. Then a red flag went up in my mind. What if her info entered into the database for the flight doesn't coincide with the K1 Visa. I called a group that they recommended to ask the question. The 3rd party group responded that I should wait until her visa is in hand. Does the K1 Visa contain different information than her Philippines passport, that my keep her from entering the port of entry? Just looking for some very good advice.

The visa should reflect what is in her passport, but sometimes there are mistakes made.  That being said, it is always best to wait for the visa in hand to purchase any tickets.

The visa info should reflect the passport bio page.   It is also recommended to not ever purchase flights until the visa is in hand.

The only thing that matters about the plane ticket is that the name and birthdate matches her Philippine passport.  Any and all visa details can be updated or changed at check-in.  However, until you have an actual visa on hand (and CFO) you have no true certainty about dates.  If you book a ticket before you have an actual visa on hand look very carefully at the date change penalties.  Because dates could still unexpectedly change.

Just to add to the other advice already given: you aren’t required to buy a oneway ticket. Roundtrip tickets are usually cheaper so I would look into that if I were you.
