I don't think a vaccine waiver on religious grounds would require lots of documentation other then your own well argumented statement and not being vaccinated recently. I've seen a lot of success stories as long as the belief is genuine. I never needed any vaccine waivers for anything for example. I did add statements from others because I could, but should not be necessary because your beliefs can be genuine without other people vouching for it.

A year is quite long but if it was during covid it was probably quite quick. Was that similar then to the I-485 approvals without waivers?

I think padding the vaccine waiver on religious grounds with affidavit letters and a strong personal statement goes a long way. And as you said, a genuine belief is what they are after. The more supporting documentation, the better the conviction. The interviewer didn't press to hard on her waiver; it was a brief conversation. I'm not sure about timeline for others without waivers. I think COVID stalled a lot of people out with limited appointments.

I-765/EAD: approved (9/27/24); card received 10/5/24

Biometrics appointment (Detroit) 8/15/24; NOA dated 27/26/24; NOA received 8/5/24

Form I-130 (FedEx delivered: 7/11/24; text notification case received: 7/16/24; check cashed: 7/17/24; NOA received in mail 7/22/24)

I have a feeling the vaccine waiver does not take much extra time, if any. A year during covid sounds positive in my ears, I hope I can expect my GC soon!

I received a new Social Security card. Same name, same number, same details on card as my old one. Just a new date. I did check off to send me a card just in case the info was different, but it's all the same info. Another document to check off my list :star:

My first post here!

I filed an i-130 in May of 2023 because my husband was a permanent resident and we couldn't file the i-485 yet. We got that in and worked on him getting naturalized. Once he was naturalized, we applied for i-130's for the two children. Then, this summer, July 9th, we filed i-485's for all of us. On August 16th, we received our biometrics appointment booked for September 6th. On August 27th, we all received RFE's. They requested the children's proof of entry, my long-form birth certificate and since my husband is self-employed, they wanted a co-sponsor (not an option) or to list assets. We did so and have more than sufficient assets to qualify. I also hired an immigration lawyer to review our response to make sure we had everything managed properly, and we put in a response to the RFE on September 21st.

Now for the hiccups- my name on my long-form birth certificate is not my legal name. Long story short, perhaps there was a glitch somewhere, and the name change wasn't filed properly back in the 80s. In all my documents and applications, I put the original name at birth so it is well documented to USCIS. The government agency in Canada says it will take at least 7 months to change it if I can't do it in person. I called USCIS on September 3rd before putting in the evidence to enquire and have never received a callback, even though they said I was advanced to tier 2. This morning, I received an automated email with the September 3rd enquiry date, saying that I have not responded to the RFE and that my application is on hold. I went to ask Emma, and there are no agents available. I called the call centre, and the robot took my receipt numbers, and it says they received my response, myUSCIS says they received my response, but I have never received an NOA letter or i-797c saying it's been received, so I guess I'll call on Monday and see if I can track down a person.

Any updates for anyone other July filers? Anyone who got an RFE, did you get a receipt, letter or document filed in myUSCIS for your response?

Thanks!

Nothing for me yet. I filed July 3rd, they received it July 5th, I had my biometrics done September 3rd or 4th and that updated and that is all. Still waiting. I only filed I-485 with request for a social security number and a vaccine waiver, no work permit or advance parole.

I hear you! It was such a random email and doesn't make sense.  I filed the evidence for all three of us, not the lawyer, and I did it through the portal.  Our online accounts say they've received the response on the correct date, and the evidence pdf is also in the documents tab. I can't imagine what more I'd need. Our youngest son says 4 months in the "my progress" tab but the eldest and I both say 6 months till decision and it hasn't moved since September. Such a waiting game.

Any other July filers have updates??

Any updates from this group

I just checked my online account, and the "My Progress" tab changed from 6 months to one year, and my children's timelines changed from 4 months to 10 months and the other child from 6 months to 10 months. Those haven't proven to be very accurate, but I still wasn't happy to see it.
