Filed July 26th 2024,

so far only EAD approved. They are reusing my biometrics.  I am slightly disappointed that I didn't get a combo card as I really miss my family but at least we got something.

Congrats on your EAD! A step in the right direction.

I'm still waiting on USCIS to correct the spelling of my wife name on her EAD card

You'd think it wouldn't be that hard. My daughter got her first US passport....her last name has only 3 letters and they still spelled it wrong. Crazy!!!

Congrats! I didn't file that one, only I-601 and I-485, so I am going to assume both will be approved at the same time. No idea how long it will take but I did see some cases that went quick (4-5 months total) so I have hope.

Thanks! I imagine they will all be approved at the same time (though I have heard of others having I-485 and I-130 being approved at different times). My daughter's I-601/I-485/I-130 were approved together. Hoping mine will both be approved along with my I-130 quickly!

She filed I-601 as well? For what reason and how long did the approval take?

She filed I-601 for vaccine waiver, along with documents to support extreme hardship and a statement of discretion. Her green card application was during COVID so that may have impacted the timeline. She filed May 2020 and got her green card May 2021. Her I-601 was approved with her I-485/I-130 three days after her interview, and she received her green card one week after the interview. They asked her a few question about her beliefs and documents she submitted during the interview, but didn't focus too much time on that form.  I think the key to her getting her I-601 approved was LOTS of documentation: years worth of vaccine waivers, affidavit letters from others, a strong personal statement, and medical records.

I don't think a vaccine waiver on religious grounds would require lots of documentation other then your own well argumented statement and not being vaccinated recently. I've seen a lot of success stories as long as the belief is genuine. I never needed any vaccine waivers for anything for example. I did add statements from others because I could, but should not be necessary because your beliefs can be genuine without other people vouching for it.

A year is quite long but if it was during covid it was probably quite quick. Was that similar then to the I-485 approvals without waivers?
