Currently at US Embassy Manila, IR5's are taking almost a year from when they became documentarily qualified to receive interview dates.  They are currently up to cases that were documentarily qualified in August 2023.  They had been making significant progress reducing even longer backlogs for IR5's but for the last couple of months they have not moved much.

@top_secret Hello, my parents are documentarily qualified last September 2023, You've mentioned as of right now they're processing August 2023. I was just wondering where this information can be found as I've been looking everywhere to find out when they will receive their interview dates. Based on the information you provided, Does that mean they could probably receive interview dates next month? Thank you so much! Looking forward to your response.

The information is not exactly officially released. This is based on anecdotal evidence of other people in the process (through this site, Facebook, or other means). As far as next month, nobody has any idea what is being planned at USEM. They were starting to move things along a little bit in late March, April and May, and then they took a big step back. Now, the backlog seems to be expanding even further. The furthest back DQ case yet to receive an interview date is sometime in late August (perhaps August 23rd or so). If you are very early to mid September, it's possible you could be included in the next wave of interview letters, which COULD happen in the next month or so (if one even happens). They are REALLY dragging their feet and it just appears to be getting worse than better.

Similar timeline to the OP. Waiting on IL now. We've been DQ'd since May 29. I recently requested an expedite based on financial hardship, hoping that my mother could attend my graduation in May next year, but that was not approved. I will try again in a few weeks with a medical reason since I've recently been sick and can use the doctor's note as evidence.

Good luck to us!

New Petition:

Apr 5,  2023: Naturalization

Apr 6, 2023: I-130 for my mother

Apr 6, 2023: NOA1

Apr 9, 2024: Approved

Apr 13, 2024: Sent to NVC

Apr 18, 2024: Received email fr NVC and paid the AOS/IV fee

Apr 23, 2024: CEAC website shows "Paid"

Apr 25, 2024: Uploaded Civil and Financial documents

May 1, 2024: Documents accepted except for marriage certificate (unreadable) and death certificate (wrong file)

May 3, 2024: Ordered marriage certificate and death certificate from PSA online

May 9, 2024: Received email from PSA that marriage cert is blurred/eligible--will need 15 more days for reverification

May 22, 2024: Marriage Cert received from PSA (death cert was delivered 2 weeks earlier)

May 23, 2024: Uploaded new files to the CEAC website

May 29, 2024: Documentary Qualified

July 13, 2024: Expedite Request to NVC

July 15, 2024: NVC responded that it will forward the request to the embassy

July 16, 2024: Expedite request rejected by the embassy

The Facebook group "IR5 US VISA PROCESS" is almost entirely Filipinos petitioning their parents.  It is fairly well moderated as far as FB groups go.  The admins and members there are somewhat organized about notifying everyone any time a batch of interview letters go out and what documentarily qualified dates are included.

No one could possibly predict what US Embassy Manila will do next because they act really erratically.  But you could argue that September 2023 'might' be included in the next batch, and they are overdue for sending out ANY recent interview letters.
