Create Account and DS-160 Now That I Have A NVC Number?

OK, sorry for the basic questions. I now have a number from the NVC, they said the package is on its way to the Manila embassy. Now it seems time to create the account in order to watch for interview openings? Where is that? Embassy link?

Is that DS-160 I hear about part of that? We created a shared email, hopefully then both can check status/appointment openings. Unless I need info from her, I may create the account, share log in information.

My plan was to create the online account, watching for openings. While doing that, schedule the medical at some point, even without an interview scheduled.

Am I missing a few things? Thanks.

You can maybe create the login accounts and snoop around to get an idea of what is there, but I personally would not submit anything from the accounts or finalize any forms until the US embassy/consulate emails/sends the Packet 3.

You can create a login for DS-160 and use the "Retrieve an Application".

https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/gt

DS-160 expires, so you may not want to submit one too early without a scheduled interview.

And you can create a login for UStravelDocs.

I've seen posts where applicants have used

http://www.usvisascheduling.com/

But I'm not sure how reliable that site is?

Although we did not do the K1 in the Philippines, you can look at our Profile->Our Story or our Timeline to see the sequence and time in which we did the K1

Specifically for the Philippines:

1st is definitely filling out the DS-160.  You can do that right away.  It is valid for 1 year after submission so no worries about it expiring.  You cannot search for interview dates until you have submitted and paid for the DS-160.  You will "start an application" the first time.  After that, you or your fiancée can "retrieve an application" to continue working on it.  If you fail to log in to the application for 30 days, you might have to start over.

The only communication you will get from the embassy is an email that they received your petition and that you can schedule your interview.  You might not even get that email.  Once you are at "ready" status there is nothing to wait for at all.
